Question about MB Quart RWC 254 Car Subwoofer

Open Question

I have four of these MB Quart RWC 254 car subwoofers. What kind of amp/amps would I need to power all four? Also I have some component MBQuart speakers I would like to power them as well I have two QWD 160 midrange and I have 4 QWD100 drivers also 4 QTD 25 tweeters and a bunch of crossovers one QXD210 and four QXD164 also two musicomp MCX214 crossovers If I put that all together what would be needed to power them and what configuration for the crossovers that I have. All the components are like new condition. I also have two QM100 drivers and two DCE 110 coaxeal driver. I don't care if we put them all in if that would work somehow.

I bought a 5 channel amp Polk Audio PA1100.5 that should be enough power. The amp has built in crossovers, do I still use the ones that came with the MBQuart component system?

I 've read a lot of blogs concerning the issue of using the crossovers that came with the speakers vs. the crossovers built into the amp. There is a lot of oppinion and information available on line. I guess that I will just go with that, if you have any comments feel free to speak out. See ya later

Need help trying to locate.the Power and speaker plugs for Mb Quart RAA1000 monoblock 1975 Car Amplifier.

Hi,

I am assuming you are referring to the actual connectors/plugs that are needed to wire the MB Quart RAA1000, a complete wiring kit is available here. It includes patch cord, power cable, grounding cable, turn-on lead among others.

If you want a pictorial layout of the wiring and connectors, the owner's manual would be of help and is available here.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I have an old soundstream reference class a 5.0 and a set of mb quart pwe 254 10 duel voice coil subs. i would like to know how to wire this set up for the most power. parrallel the voice coils then run...

The Soundstream Class A 5.0 will deliver its full power at 1 ohms mono.
I think your subs are two dual 4 ohm voice coils.
If you wire the voice coils for each sub in PARALLEL, that's 2 ohm for each sub. To get 1 ohm mono, you need to hook up the subs in PARALLEL to the amplifier, in bridge mode. That's the way to get to 1 ohm mono. Please add a fan to your setup as the amplifier will get very hot. You will need to use a relay to hook up the amplifiers and fan(s) to or you will damage the remote ouput of your HU (if you hook up the fan straight to the remote of the HU) as the remote output of the HU is not designed for the amount of current a fan draws.
Good luck. If you need help with the relay issue, have a look here: http://www.caraudiohelp.com/newsletter/multiple_amplifiers.htm

What are the specs, rms ect on my older mb quart psc 216 speakers

Any type of 4 channel amp that will allow the speakers to be hooked up at 4ohm. I would check your local walmart. The brand VR3 are made by Rockford fosgate as well as lighting audio. From what I have heard they are some really good amps at affordable prices. If you are looking to spend some money I would recommend a JL Audio e2150

Amp powers on, but stays in protect mode

Shorted output transistors are the most common reason for amplifiers to go into protect. How much do you know about electronics/electronic components?

If you're a newbie, read THIS page.

Would it be possible to send me a set of high quality photos of the amp's internals?
