Samsung NT700G7A volume display won't go away

I bought a Samsung NT700G7A today, and as when I usually get a new PC I went through the steps of updating drivers and windows &. And as of when I updated windows, and after the restart, the little graphic that pops up on the screen when I would change the volume on the laptop under the screen, always pops up and won't go away. It sits right in the middle of my screen on top of all the windows. Its very irritating. Also, none of the buttons that control functions on the laptop itself work anymore. Just some extra info: This is not the first time I have had an issue like this. Over the last 6 months, I have bought 3 laptops of different makes and setups, and every time I update Windows 7, it removes the uses of the function buttons on the laptop. So this is the 3rd time now. Only serious problem now is that the volume display is stuck in the middle of the screen.. Please help...

Thanks for your suggestion but what I have tried is restoring my laptop to the point before the critical windows update, and it did sort my problem out. However, I still need to perform the windows update, which I am almost certain is going to cause the same problem again. If it does, I will try your suggestion.

Think I might just have discovered the issue here. I had the same problem but didn't realize that the volume was maxed on the unit (as I was controlling it through the phone). As soon I brought the volume down on the unit the problem went away.

I have an acer aspire 3000 I logged off last night and today went to turn it on it powers up but it won't display anything just a black screen

I think your OS might have gone..... So try installing an OS CD in it and see if it displays something or not. If not then your display is gone. You have to repair it in a repairing shop.

I've owned for approx 3 yrs. Today I was watching a show on my Panasonic TH-50PZ80U and all the sudden the sound went away. From the lowest volume setting to the highest, no noise at all...Please...

Hello!
First move: unplug your broadcast provider's box, wait for a minute, then plug it back into power source. I mean: leave all the connections intact, just unplug from power source. It might be just power cord or power adapter. If that's not the case, please do the same with TV. Unplug it from wall outlet, wait a minute, plug it back in. It's a next step, if your "box" won't take care of the problem. If that won't take care of the issue, refer to owner's manual for "reset" procedure. Worst case scenario: you might need to replace main board inside or your TV.
good luck,
Thanks,
Alex.

I just bought my samsung 22 inch monitor, and in the top left corner there is a display that won't go away. It have tried every single button on the remote and the monitor and it will not go away.

What is the content of the display? This sounds like one of the
family of viruses that hackers use. The smallest unwanted display
that I experienced was a simple period "." in the upper left oorner.
That told me that a hacker had placed some unwanted software
in my computer -- virus or other -- and I had to remove the application
and reload it. That little period "." also showed up on my Explorer
application and I had to reload that one also. My Mac does not have
viruses.

Dynex soundcard is installed however my pc still has no sound!

Hi Sammantha78,

I had a similar problem with my computer and I went and bought new sound card and installed it and I still had no sound. I then went and bought a new set of speakers and now i got sound. I suggest you test another set of speakers on your computer to see if it’s not your Altec Lansing speakers that is not working.

Sincerely,

Agent Xiong
