Question about Air Tools & Compressors

Fuel problem I have a 1998 dodge Caravan and for some reason after the van runs for about five minutes the fuel line is blowed off the connection point where it goes to feed the fuel rails underneath the car. I just installed a new fuel filter to make sure it was not bad but did not help.

I just recently did did two dodge van and the problem is the fuel pressure regulator is going bad in the tank. What happens is the pump puts out more pressure then the system needs so the regulator opens and closes to keep correct fuel pressure. You are having a intermitant proble and the pressure regulator is not opening and blowing the supply line off.

What I suggest you do is go to autozone, advanced auto or equiv and get a complete fuel sending unit which consists of pump, regulator and fuel indicator I just priced one they are about 160.00 dollars. BUT WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT JUST BUY THE REGULATOR IT IS 90.00 DOLLARS ALONE AND THAT NEW REGULATOR PUTS PRESSURE ON OLD PUMP AND WHAMO YOUR FUEL PUMP GOEW BAD trust me I learned from experience

Location of fuel pressure regulator on 2006 dodge caravan 3.3

Replace fuel pump and filter that is not a regulator problem.
Bad fuel regulator will cause vehicle to surge at cruise speed or they leak and cause engine to suck excessive fuel into intake if vacuum control then blows black smoke.

2003 dodge van runs ok one day and dies out the next

check the cat converter for failure as it breaks down and causes a blockage in the exhaust. t may have been the reason for the muffler failure by not burning off the unburnt fuel in the first place.

Poor gas mileage on my 1993 dodge caravan

If you want fuel economy then dump this beast and buy a nice peugeot or citreon picasso diesel manual then you will get around 30 mpg around town and anything up to 70 mpg on a run ,try paying our fuel prices and this nice typical american petrol gas burner would be delegated to the classic car sunday drive out like my jag with its 4lt engine i can only afford to take it out once a month or so on a jaguar club run around ,other than that its my ford diesel manual escort with its 0 to 60 in 15 minutes but it only uses one tank of fuel a month.

Sounds like you have a broken fuel return line. The high pressure line goes through the filter and to the injection system, and the unused fuel is returned through the pressure regulator back to the fuel tank.

1998 Dodge Caravan. engine dies and wont start. fuel pump was changed twice but i get a few miles & dies again & wont start. im thinkin fuel filter is plugged....

It might be your fuel filter. Also, Dodge and Chrysler is bad for fuel pump failures. A clogged fuel filter can cause this. Also, you might not be getting enough fuel pressure. There should be a test port on the van, where you can test the gas pressure. You also have a fuel pump relay or switch. This could be bad as well. Hope this helps you.

Where is the fuel filter located on 2005 dodge caravan

It should be found next to the gas tank on the right side, under the sliding door of the passenger side of the van. The fuel filter is cylindrical and about five inches

Dodge Grand Caravan line from fuel filter to engine connection is too short. Checked three other filters and have same length. Are we installing it wrong?

Are you using a purolator fuel filter?

They are excellent filters BUT have fitment problems on more than vehicle

Get the Dodge brand fuel filter and see if it works, if it doesn't you can always return it.

Double check that the fuel line is correct for your year model van it could be the wrong one.

Filters usually have an arrow stamped on them showing which direction to install it.

this sounds like you have a bad fuel line (leaking) clean the engine compartment let dry then let the van run. follow all your fuel lines from the engine back and you will find the leak. you will have a fuel pressure line and a return line back to the tank
