The picture is bowed at the top and bottom, the colors are 3D looking, as far as the adjusting using the menu the option is not there anymore. Which leads me to believe that the convergence board is not getting power. I don't think the convergence board is bad I just think the board that supplies the B+ voltage to the convergence board is shot or has a pico fuse or something along those lines. Because I can cut the power to the convergence board and everything is the same. The screen seams to be focused. Hope this helps......

One never knows when an electronic circuit is ready to fail.

You may have an intermittent condition, however. The test for that issimple: Just bang on the side, top or back with your hand or fist tosee if you can shock it back to normal operation. Sometimes a loosewire, cold solder joint, etc. can act up and give these kind ofconditions.

Are you sure it is a convergence problem? If the registration of thecolors is so far out that you cannot get them back into alignment withthe crosshair settings or if the registration is off on the sides oredges but okey in the middle, then you do have a convergence problem. But if the picture is fuzzy over all the screen, then you have a focusproblem, not convergence.

Yes, there are convergence boards for replacement when yours goes bad. They are expensive and still require alignment by someone experienced.

Here is what I suggest: Study the picture detail and explain exactlywhat happens to the lines and colors during turn on and warm up, etc. Then relay that information to me and I can make a more educated guessas to what the problems may be.

If you are adventurous, this web site has information on how to getinto the service mode where you may be able to make adjustments. However, if the adjustments are changing dramatically over time, thiswill not solve the problem. There are other service tip links on thispage, also.

Your convegence has gone out. You can get complete kits with instructions from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com or just the parts from www.ConvergenceChips.com . If you have never done this before i would suggest going the kit route since it includes step by step photo instructions and support.

I had to replace a fuse for the power supply and know the picture is blurry and bowed

Your convergence power supply is propably not working. The convergence supply board is mounted above the mainboard and has AC 110V supplied to it from the main PCB. That's probably why the fuse blew.Rca Has abulletin regarding replacing two diodes CR19710 and CR19713 on convergence power board.

Help with RCA projection TV P46812BL (chasis ptk195AA)

You have probably blown one of the convergence ICs. Effectively the easiest thing to do is replacing the whole convergence board, so that no soldering is involved.

Here you can buy a replacement convergence board, just select your model.

Let me know if you need further help.

RCA HD52W59 Convergence issues after some repairs.

Hello rmolen,

This is an indication that the convergence amps are drawing too much current which has an effect on the power supply and thus killing your sound by removing or lowering the voltage supplied to that stage, finally this results in the blowing of the fuse. I would suggest that you change the convergence amplifiers and the biasing resistors (All of them) and then see if this corrects your problem (I believe it will). Also get a schematic of the TV and try to find out how the power supply relates the sound module and the convergence module, they might share a common power bus, or the voltage regulator for the sound also feeds the convergence board.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Picture has 3 images, all different colors (red-blue-green) screen looks concave in the middle top & bottom

This is what is known as convergence..(very common)... first question DO you have the "CONVERGENcE" option in your setup menu?.... if you dont there may be a special fuse issue... if not then more than likely it is what is known as convergence power supply issue. you have complete loss of convergence?
