Check connections. If that doesn't work, try putting it in a different computer. If that doesn't work it's probably broken.

Wont boot up

Is your hard-drive OK? Run a diagnostic to check it. Please elaborate what OS was it? What laptop you have? May be some files have corrupted. Make sure your disk is OK & then reinstall the OS. If its Windows 7, chances are that you wont even lose data provided you don't format it.

Do you have any OBD Check Lights on your dash?

Any stored codes?

Don't see the intake question,same,
worse,still has to be fixed

I would suggest you drive around with a mechanic
& have that person bring along a professional grade
scan tool or software & see what data shows up.

If that isn't done, there is a good chance you will be told
they couldn't find anything, that happens way too often

You don't get what you go to a repair shop for & they don't
seen to understand why your there.

Sometimes, recent hardwares (laptop components) don't have its drivers for XP1 & 2. (It conflicts.)
Try with XP3. Otherwise, you have to reinstall win7 and run win XP virtually under win7.

My PC recognizes my hard drive but it's making a ticking sound & it won't re-format. I'm running Win7 & have tried both reformat settings-NTFS and exFAT but there is not action at all....

I'm sorry to hear that your hard drive is having trouble. Based on your description of the "ticking sound" and the fact that the drive was dropped, the drive is probably physically damaged. Unfortunately, this means that your drive is failing in a way that isn't fixable; it will have to be replaced.

it is a known issue that these particular drives sometimes don't get recognized by the Operating System, after coming out of Sleep, Stand By, or Hibernation.
Simply try to disconnect and reconnect the drive again in the USB port, if this doesn't work then, Disconnect it from the USB and connect it to the Firewire. if this doesn't work then, Restart the computer.
It should solve the problem.

Try to check your disk here is a link to explain using your installation windows disk
If you don't have a disk you can probably find one on the net or borrow one..
Start your computer press F11 start from the cdrom with disk in and press r for repair when prompt

You can also take the hard drive out and connect it to another computer as a second drive and run that computers command prompt.. Type CHKDSK (Your Drive: ) /F /R... on ..Example mine says CHKDSK D: /F /R press enter type Y for yes and enter don't turn off the computer.. when it is finished type EXIT and put HDD back in the another computer and start it

You can also try safe mode command prompt

After run Malware bytes to remove the mal -ware that is freezing the computer...the link Here
If you can get the malware installed and ran in safe mode you won't need to chkdsk but checking the disk is good because if fixes bad sectors on the drive also files...Made my hard drive run smoother and makes no noise..

It make tic noise when the hard drive is running

This sound is the heads of the disk hitting. The drive should be backed up immediately to another.
You can put this drive into a drive enclosure to clone it to another.
This drive will stop working and there is no telling how soon that failure will occur.
