Question about RCA HD61LPW165 61" Projection HDTV
I have a 50" RCA DLP with the model number HD50LPW62AYX2. I need to change the color wheel but cannot find any how-to's when I google it. Although, there seems to be a lot of info including how-to videos for Samsungs. I believe the color wheel part number I need is RCA 267888. Any information or pictures (depicting the location of the color wheel) you can give me would be greatly appreicated! Thank You!
Mine started to howl last year, I sprayed out the motor using carb cleaner / lubricant. Its been running fine for over a year since.
My guess is, the bushing gets plugged with dust particals. If you catch it as soon as it starts to squeek, the carb cleaner trick may work for you too.

Here is a company selling the RCA 267888 color wheel:
Working on the RCA SCENIUM 50"DLP HDTV HD50LPW164 was easy. Access to the color wheel was not from the back. Taking off the screen revealed a plastic cover. Underneath, the wheel was easy to locate and remove.
FYI Clearly, the tiny motor that spins the wheel is not up to the task. Too many fail within 2 years, some less.
The bearing is just a bronze bushing. Once it has worn down, the wheel can vibrate and the squealing begins.
The motor is made by Delta. A company I have emailed who tell me I could buy from them. In the meantime I bought a motor from a company here in the US.
The motor looks exactly the same BUT how on earth one changes over the glass color wheel to the new motor is a mystery. I have emailed the company, TSM Inc. to ask them if they have the info. By selling the motor separately, I was led to believe it was possible to change over the color wheel.
Here is the motor I purchased:
Hope the info helps!

I had already bought the Delta motor from TSM before I found this site. $55 shipped, got it next day. Replacement was straightforward and fairly easy. Works great.

I have been using lithium grease to lubricate the color wheel motor for over a year.

it''s a pain but i can do it now in under an hour , start to finish.
