Question about KitchenAid KEYS750LQ Electric Dryer
I have a electric Kitchen Superba dryer, and when I select the time, I can hear the timer clicking, but the machine itself never starts. What should I start looking at?
If the dryer does not turn on at ALL (meaning the drum does not spin and it does not heat), the main culprit is the thermal fuse (also known as a thermister on some models). The thermal fuse acts as the name implies. It is a fuse. If it blows, it must be replaced. Now...with this said, this is not the ONLY thing that can cause your symptoms. However, it is the MOST common problem and the best place to start. If the thermal fuse blew, it is generally for a reason. More commonly the problem is caused by poor dryer ventilation, or something coming in contact with the terminals (such as coins). Read through the link provided and let me know if you have questions. Please post back with your COMPLETE model number (located around the door opening, or along the back of the operator console) if you require further assistance. This will give me an idea of how your dryer is constructed. I hope this helps.
