Re: PNAV-3500 error message regarding memory
I suspect firmware issues and/or condensation/water damage. Considering the time element and the importance of the GPS in your forthcoming travel and if after everything else and the unit would not function, then I believe there would only be two (2) options:
seek the services of a reputable service shop who can repair it on time and guarantee it; or
acquire a replacement.
Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
If none of those solutions work, you might need to get an update or reinstall the software from the cd that came with it. This will be best because the memory will be cleared from the memory stick so you can have a fresh start and no more of the memory problem.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

The Read Error message displayed on the Camera when accessing the images which was not recorded correctly. This may also happen when the Memory Stick is corrupted to record or read the files. Please check if the message is displaying when accessing all the images. If it happens with all the images, then it may be an issue with the Camera or the Memory Stick.
To check if the issue is with the Memory Stick, try using a different Memory Stick and check if the message displays. This may also happen when an attempt was made to play back the image or the movie that was not recorded on this camera.
Try to wipe the contact area on the Memory Card with a soft, dry cloth. It may be necessary to format the Memory Card (Format option is available in the Setup 2 Menu of the Camera). If the message still appears, service may be required.
If you get a message on your camera such as "Memory Card Error"
AND there are no photos that you want still on the card, the

the camera menu (Note: if you have an xD card, once you re-format your
photos cannot be recovered.). Read your camera manual to see how to
format your memory card. If this does not help, try another memory card
(say the small 16/32mb card
that came in the box with the camera). If this card does not display a
card error", then the other card
is at fault.
If you do have valuable photos on the card,
then DO NOTHING (do NOT format the card, do NOT take any more photos). You need

This problem is due to the mix of registered and unregistered DIMMs. 64Mb and 128 Mb DIMM's are unregistered memory technology 256MB is registered memory technology.
A mix of registered and unregistered memory prevents the server from completing startup, and results in an error beep sequence and a blank screen
