Usually mounts are unique to a camera manufacturer. There are exceptions. Sony has the Alpha; lenses for the Konica-Minolta are the same mount. Your AF (autofocus) lens will work on it. You might also consider picking up a Konica Minolta 5D or 7D.....they're no longer made and hence are cheaply had.
The MD and Rokkor lenses won't work on the Sony Alpha.
THIS IS A CHEAP LENS (<$50 VALUE) SO I WOULDN'T LET IT DRIVE YOUR DECISIONS!!

Generally speaking, those puppies are assembled so no ordinary man can find his way in. Your best bet is to send it into Sigma, or drop it by a camera store, or put up a post on craigslist.org - You'll be better off in the long run knowing that there will be no damage to your internal elements. A single mishap can mean goodbye beautiful prime - the elements are coated with certain substances that are crucial in the lens's disbursement of light - removal of these coatings is a baaaad idea.

The only problem with doing this repair yourself, is that upon re-assembly you will need the Nikon software and hardware to readjust and calibrate the lens.
Try sending it to PhotoTech Repair Service in NYC. They are Nikon authorized, and can do the repair under warranty if you still have it. Also if you join they're facebook page, they will give you a 10% discount.
Here is the facebook page link, it has everything you need to send it in.
