Question about Acer Aspire 5315 Notebook

Black screen Acer Aspir 5220

Hi,

After switching on my laptop appears just black screen and it cannot be resolved by the FN functions. Is there some quick solution?

I don't know if this will help but if all possible try to get to a projector and connect your computer to it, because maybe your desktop for some odd reason is being displayed on your second desktop..
so VGA out with another monitor should work if thats the Prob.

Hi,

Hold down Fn and tap F5, you may have to tap F5 a couple of times to get it to switch screens.

Green function key locked on acer laptop


Hey, I've just been having this problem. Try pressing CTRL + SHIFT + FN all at the same time. I found out that I had to press them once to turn on the green keys, and then press them twice more to turn it off. I hope that works for you.

once the cable is plugged in, press the fn (function) button and f5 I believe to switch display to the tv (it may be f6 or something else)

Acer aspire 5220 booting problem


Try connecting to an external monitor. If it displays on the external monitor then the LCD is probably dead. If it doesn't display on the external monitor, its a problem with the video card.

Did you switch displays to the external video? Try hitting the Fn key and whichever function key at the top of the keyboard has a little TV screen icon over it at the same time.

I am trying to set up my Acer extensa 5220 to run an external monitor - it comes on while booting then reverts back to lapto screen - any ideas please rgds roy


you're working on a laptop (problem posted under desktop)

you need to activate the video-out port by:

press and hold the Fn key then press one of the function button (F1 - F12) locate the one that has a monitor icon on it
