Question about HP 2025 20.1" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Resolution I hooked up this monitor and the icons on the desktop were about two inches big and blurry. I changed the resolution to the recommended settings and the icons are almost as big as my face. Could this be the video card?

It is definatley something to do with the graphics card. Or just the settings you have set it to. Have you tried pressing the auto set button on the monitor itself to see what happens? other to that if you can set the display settings to 1680 by 1050 and display it to highest 32bit. If it doesn't let you do this then you definatley have graphics card issues.

Display is too big and don't fit screen

Have you try to reset the screen resolution? You can do by right click anywhere on your desktop, choose properties, and select settings. You then change screen resolution to 1280x1024 and click on OK. It should help. Don't forget to rate me if it solves your issue.
Thanks

I just installed win7 and all mi icons are big, everything is big, please help me.

Right click on the desktop and go to personalize. Down in the bottom left corner click Display. Choose smaller 100%. If this is already checked, Right click on the desktop and click screen resolution. Pick a higher resolution and click apply. The higher the number the smaller everything will get, For Example. 1280x 720 is much smaller than 800 x 600

I want to install the monitor Hyundai L70N but I don't have any cd

You usually do not need a disk to install a monitor, most of them are plug and play capable. If your getting an image that is blurry and out of perspective you may need to change your display size " standard 17 inch is 1280x1024 " If your on XP you can right click on the empty desktop and go to properties, Under the settings tab you will find options for screen resolutions. If your on Vista or 7 you right click on empty desktop space and go go screen resolution, There again you will easily find your settings for your screen resolution. Click apply and then click OK. If your still encountering problems such as no image at all you may have a problem with the monitor.

Icons are blurry

Did it happen all of a sudden? In other words, was it OK before?

Try going to screen preferences, settings, and look at the resolution slider - is it set to the native resolution of your monitor (1280x1024)? If not, correct and accept changes.

If the resolution is set OK, then multiple other things might have happened, but not knowing a bit more about the situation it's hard to advise anything...

Only getting extra large picture

Please right click on your monitor desktop

Click on "Properties"

Click on "Settings"

Look for "Screen Resolution" down at the bottom.

see if the resolution is "1024 by 768"

if not then make it "1024 by 768"

Also check "Color Quality" is set to "Highest (32 bit)"

If not then make it "Highest (32 bit)"

Click apply and screen resolution will be changed.

If it does not change then please check your graphic card drivers.

Cheers

I have a Dell monitor and the text is blurry and fuzzy, how do I fix this?

this is actually from dell support website.. hope it will correct your problem...

1 Ensure the correct resolution is set for the monitor. Flat panel monitors display the sharpest, clearest images when set to their optimal resolution. Sometimes games and other programs will change the resolution then fail to set it back once they are closed. This will then make the desktop look big, distorted, and grainy. Perform the following steps to adjust the resolution:
  1. Right-click an empty area of the desktop, and then click Properties. (Or, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display.)

  2. In the Display Properties window, click the Settings tab.

  3. Under Screen resolution, move the slider to the desired setting. For most flat panels the optimal setting will be all the way to the right.

  4. Click Apply, and then click OK.

  5. If prompted, restart the computer.
NOTE: If the resolution will not adjust to the appropriate settings, the video driver may need to be reinstalled or updated.

2 Ensure the screen is clean. Finger prints and smudges will make the screen look blurry. Clean the screen with a soft lint free cloth. If needed, dampen the cloth with warm water or use a LCD cleaning kit that can be purchased from most electronics stores.
3 Use the On Screen Display (OSD) on the monitor to select the Auto Adjust feature. Selecting this will synch the video signal and can sharpen the video image.
4 Reseat the video signal cable to ensure a secure connection.
5 Use the On Screen Display (OSD) on the monitor to select the Factory Reset feature.
6 Test the monitor on another computer or test another monitor on this computer. If available, testing different hardware will isolate if the problem stays with the computer or monitor

How can I make fonts look good in an LCD monitor ?

The VGA connection should be fine; I have DVI and when I switched from analog, the difference was pretty minimal, to my eyes.

Is it just the fonts that are blurry, or everything? If fonts only, then this almost certainly suggests that running the ClearType tuner again would solve the problem. But this applies to all displays, so if one is good and the other is not, then this isn't it.

If everything is a little blurry, then this suggests one of two problems -- the first, you report trying, which is that the display adapter is set to a different resolution than the native resolution of the LCD monitor itself. Your display adapter should probably be able to drive 2 monitors (the built-in laptop monitor and the external monitor) at once. You should be able to set their resolutions separately.

Assuming Windows XP: Start > Control Panel > Display > Settings > at which point, you should see two monitors listed in a dropdown. Set them to their native resolutions there (using the slider bar, usually all the way to the right), and save.

If you do have the display resolutions set to their native resolutions for both monitors, then it's possible that your external monitor is messed up. A quick test would be to run the on-screen settings, usually from a button on the monitor itself. If what is displayed there is sharp and what is displayed from Windows is not, then this points to a problem with the display driver. If everything, even the on-screen display is blurry, then perhaps the monitor settings are messed up -- usually there's an option to restore to factory settings -- try that.

If that doesn't work, I'm probably out of ideas, unless you have further information.

This could be caused by any number of things. The first thing I would check is to make sure you have the cable plugged into both the monitor and the computer snuggly and that it hasn't come loose (if you haven't screwed the cable in using the thumb screws then you should). If this doesn't fix the problem I would check to make sure you are using the recommended resolution and refresh rate for your monitor (this can usually be found in the manual or if you change these settings some monitors will even tell you what the recommended settings are if you set them to something other then what is recommended). If you are using a Windows based PC you can check your resolution by right clicking anywhere there is a free spot on your desktop and choosing properties (or personalize if you are using Vista). This should bring up your display settings. If you click on the Advanced button and then click on Monitor you can change the refresh rate also. If you set it to something wrong just do not hit any keys or press any mouse buttons for 15 seconds and your computer should automatically revert to the setting you were using before. If none of these works and the cable running from your monitor to your computer is detachable then replacing the cable is recommended. Replacing it with a shielded cable that is gold tipped will provide the best connection (espically if you are using a longer cable). If none of these works you could have either a bad monitor or a bad video card. If you have a second monitor available I would hook that up and see if you see the same problem. If so, and you have already tried the resolution/refresh rate settings, it is quite possible your video card is going bad.
