Have you updated the firmware on it? I had a similar problem with a Sony blu-ray player and I had to download an update and burn it on to a CD then allow the CD to update the blu-ray player. What's the model number of your player, I may be able to get a link to the update for you.

SOURCE: LG Blu-Ray BD-370 unlock codes
To set DVD Region to “0”, download file “6000.zip” (often also called “LG6000.zip”) from here:
Save the file and then unzip and extract it to your hard drive.
Now burn the subdirectory RMTM0000 and its contents (not the text file) onto a CD-ROM (ISO format, “closed” CD-ROM).
Insert CD-ROM into the LG BD 370 P player, and when the Region Management System screen is displayed, set the Region Code to “0” using your remote. Once done, press “PAUSE” on you remote to save, and you’re done!

This player is like many other Panasonic units in that it cannot be hacked to become a multi region model. Many Sony units have the same restriction. Both manufacturers typically fit region specific chipsets: hacking is therefore not a simple case of opening the disc drawer and pressing a secret button sequence.
The only multi-region hack which is possible is to the DVD-video playback. To do this you need a special service remote control (costs more than the player and not sold to the general public) and this does not make any changes to the Blu-Ray region coding. Note that hacking the player in any way invalidates the balance of any manufacturer's warranty and if you're in the UK you'll lose your Sale of Goods Act protection.
Although buying a service remote is not realistically possible, you can rent one (provided you're able to pay a large deposit against it's return). Just enter "DMR-BS850 hack" on your preferred search engine. I'd usually provide a link to a supplier but I don't know which country you're in.
Before renting a remote for this you may wish to bear in mind that you can buy a highly specified and easily hackable regular DVD player for less such as the Philips DVP5980 (around £25, HDMI output with digital upscaling, DivX, USB drive, progressive scan).
Not the answer you wanted, but I hope that it has still been of some assistance to you. Please return the favour by rating my answer.
