Let me be a little more specific. I do not see a receptacle inside the oven for a temperature probe to plug into. Does this mean my unit has no probe feature?

I have a frigidare range and it is flashing F10 and Beeping repeatedly

The "F10" error code caused by the runaway temperature.

The first thing I would check is the resistance across the oven temperature probe (aka oven temperature sensor) terminals at the EOC (electronic oven control) plug.

It suppose to be about 1100 Ohms at the room temperature.

If the resistance at the EOC plug is wrong, then measure the oven temperature probe resistance at the probe plug.

If it's wrong - replace the oven temperature probe. It's better to hardwire it, using a high temperature ceramic wire nuts.

If the readings at the EOC and at the oven temperature probe plug are different - check the wire harness between the oven temperature probe and the EOC.

If there is nothing wrong with the oven temperature probe resistance - replace the EOC.
Here is the probe to order.

Oven will ask for temp probe when i am not using one. it then turns itself off.

As you did not include a model number I can suggest you insert your meat probe into it's receptacle and remove it again quickly about a half dozen times.....maybe even a dozen times. The meat probe plug is like an older style headphone plug. The receptacle that it plugs into may need to complete a circuit for the electronic control. When the probe is not in the receptacle, the receptacle contacts touch to complete a circuit. These contacts may have become dirty from normal oven usage. You will be cleaning these contacts using the probe as I explained. If that doesn't solve the problem you may want to call in a professional.

KitchenAid Gas Range Temperature Probe

We had the same problem, and we tricked it into running it's cycle be doing the following;

1. Wrap a wet paper towel around the probe, plug it in, and close the door. Then follow the temp. probe directions in the manual:
2. Set probe temp. at 130 degrees, then select a bake cycle. We selected convect bake.
3. Set oven temp for 275 degrees, but maybe any temp over the probe temp would work.
4. Then start. The cycle took 12 minutes to complete, and when it was finished, turn the oven off and then open the door and unplug the probe.
5. Now everything works fine.

Probe

The jack that the probe plugs into is faulty. There is an internal switch in the plug thats not making contact to tell the unit that the probe isn't installed. Either take it apart and wirenut the two together for the internal switch or replace the plug.
