If you have a flat panel TV (LCD or Plasma) then you can connect your laptop using an HDMI cable. Your laptop should have an HDMI port on the side. Buy the cheapest HDMI cable that is long enough (six feet ought to do it). Don't pay more for a "gold" cable, it's a rip-off. With HDMI, video and audio are carried in the same cable. Your laptop should automatically sense the TV set and auto-adjust itself.

If you have an older-style CRT TV then things will get more difficult. Then you'll need a VGA to composite or VGA to S-video. With a converter, you need separate cables for video and audio. Here's one that will work:
http://www.chronos.com.tw/_products_0616/tv/PC%20to%20TV/Pc%20to%20Tv.htm

Using the converter, you'll have to tell your laptop that you are connecting to an external device.

L655 Satellite won't start up.

For this kind of issue, please follow up the following steps to check:

1.confirm the battery and ac adapter connect the laptop normally.Maybe the bad connect lead to this problem. If there are no lights when you turn on laptop, one of possible reason is that your adapter is malfunction.

2.the second possible cause is laptop dc jack failure. If the dc jack is broken or loose, you are required to replace it or repair it.

3.Another possible reason is that there is something wrong with laptop motherboard. For this situation, it includs two kinds of possibility,a failure in an electronic circuit and BGA malfunction.

For more detailed reasons and solutions, please have a look at the following article:http://www.ifitjams.com/lappower.htm

Toshiba satellite l655 turns off while plugged in

Check the cooling fan and heatsink, remove the heatsink and fan, use a can of compressed air to clean out the ports and fins, then check the thermal paste between the processor and heatsink, remove if hard with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel, apply fresh compound and assemble.

Satellite L655D-S5093 keyboard removal

This is the User's Manual for the L655-S5098 laptop:
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=SB&os=&category=&moid=2759985&rpn=PSK2CU&modelFilter=L655-S5098&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768663

Predictably, its useless when performing maintenance such as keyboard replacement, but page 82 indicates that this laptop supports "most USB-compatible [external] keyboards", so, while the chicklet keyboard is down, you can boot and use the system with a workaround USB keyboard.

I could not find an L655-S5093 laptop model on the Toshiba support web site, which is found at http://www.pcsupport.toshiba.com

The closest I could locate for you are these two How-to Guides:

Hello,

Sorry for the delay. Unfortunatly, you can not add a graphics card to your laptop without having to redo the video port on the motherboard itself.

I HAVE A TOSHIBA SATELLITE A2215- S7422..I CHANGED THE FAN ON CAUSE IT WASN'T RUNNING CORRECTLY AND IT STARTED UP AND WHEN I CHANGED THE FAN IT TURNED ON THEN SHUT OFF THEN I GOT IT DIGNOSED AND THEY SAID...

Hi:
The charging light can come on, even if the motherboard is bad.
I would suspect that possibly something was not assembled properly when you changed the fan. One thing to try is to take the laptop back apart, and remvove the heatsink/ fan assembly again, and make sure your CPU is properly installed, and that it is locked in place. Re apply heatsink compound and hope for improvement

How do I replace the keyboard?

next to the F1 key and the windows key (2nd upper key and second to last key) are two screws, usually under some covering. unscrew and lift top edge of the keyboard towards the trackpad to lay face down. Undo the wire ribbon by lifting the grey or brown tabs and remove ribbon and keyboard. Then install the new keyboard by inserting the ribbon on the place. Lock down with the tabs and put the plastic prongs (close to the space bar) into the laptop body first, and then close keyboard onto the final position. screw back in and thats all. nboulikas@gmail.com for any additional questions.
