When we plugged it in, light didn't go on and there was no heat.. what can i do?

It may sound basic, but make sure the outlet you are using is live. Plug in a known good appliance to make sure. If the outlet is good, check the cord closely for any cuts or breaks. From there likely you would need to open the case for further troubleshooting.

Electric cord chipped power shorting, how do we fix it

You will need a wire stripper, solder, solder flux, heat shrink tubing, a heat gun (hair dryer will do) and a soldering iron.

1. Cut the cord where the chip is.
2. Strip the wire on both sides by about 1/8". You should have 4 exposed wires from the two wires inside the cord.
3. Apply some soldering flux to the exposed end.
4. Heat the exposed wires and apply solder. This is call tinning and will help when you are attaching the wires.
5. Cut the heat shrink tube about 1/2" long, you will need two. Insert the heat shrink tube to both wires that is to be soldered.
6. Solder the wires together by applying heat and attaching the wires when the solder melt.
7. move the heat shrink over the soldered area and use a heat gun to heat the tube. It will shrink and provide insulation as well.

**If you don't have soldering experience, you might want to take it to an experienced technician. Bad solder or poor insulation can cause expose wires and poses an electric shock hazard!

Foreman gv5 grill just stoped working

There is a thermal fuse in series with the heating coils inside. You will have to disassemble it, find the fuse, take it to an electric supply house and get a replacement. Some soldering "may" be necessary.

Grill problems

I would advise not to use the grill or the plug it plugs into before determining what the problem is. It could be the grill cord, or the wall plug.

If you have been in the habit of pulling the cord plug out of the wall by tugging on the cord, then chances are the problem is broken conductors inside of the wire insulation. One way to test this is to attempt plugging the unit into a totally different wall outlet. If the cord and outlet heat up again, chances are the cord needs to be replaced (if possible). If the both do not heat up, then the outlet wiring connections inside of the wall need to be checked.

Bad wiring connections either in the wall, or in the cord, will generate heat, when will then conduct to the other connector. So it is difficult to use heat as the indicator of which connector is bad.

Put a turkey in the big george and the wing hit the heat bar there was a crack not loud and now it will not turn on. when I plug it in three 000 come up but it wont turn on no red power light or motor...

You may have blown a fuse. they have one on the in side of the unit. But if its brand new dont try it your self this will invalidate your warrentee. but if its older try it you self by takeing out the screws and remove the cover. Unpluged of corse. Near the power cord and what have you in side you should find a fuse. replace it. Good luck DFD Please rate me TKU

No power or anything - unit is dead

do this test for heating coil: connect a second ac supply cord directly to the coils wires. does it heat? if so, a fix is feasible. the problem is either the thermostat or a blown component on the board. neither are easy
