Question about Canon imageRUNNER 210S Copier

1 Answer

Copier jamming The copier sounds sick (more clicks, grinds and wave sounds than ever! It makes sometimes makes as few as 1 or 2 copies and then jams in 2 or 3 different locations. When I open the cabinet to clear the jams, there may or may not be paper in the jam locations. Any suggestions?

Broke down and had a pro come and check it out. He said the feed unit gears are worn down, would cost $600+ to fix. We are now considering lease of new machine. Thanks for your help.

One of your feed tires or rollers may have come off or be worn out. You may also have paper stuck behind one of the drawers, does it do this out of all the drawers?

If it does this out of all the drawers you may have a main drive problem, which would entail either replacing the main drive belt or it may have simply just came off

A loud clicking sound

This means that a gear is jammed or broken somewhere. Check for waste full and empty or drum waste roller and unblock the jammed toner inside that unit or check fuser gear if broken then replace it.

1 Answer

Ricoh CL 7100 fuser jam.

The grinding noise is the clashing of gears. The fuser is composed of 2 rollers, a metal or ceramic with a heater inside (bulb) and a silicon roller to apply pressure. The 'hot' roller is geared and the silicon roller can be geared or free floating. There is at least 1 paper sensor in the the fuser to let the unit know whether paper is there and there when it should or should not be. Sometimes, the sensor gets slightly dislodged and can actually cause a jam. If you are hearing a gear clash, the paper is being pushed through the machine and instead of being pushed through the fuser, it stops because the fuser rollers are not turning. The rest of the machine keeps pushing, crinkling the paper.
If there is crinkling, then gears that drive the fuser need to be checked. It is this gear cluster and/or the fuser that need to be replaced.

Brother MFC-9420CN Paper Jam Error message w/ loud grinding noiz

please try this

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Sharp AL1642 CS Copier Grinding noise and Paper Jams

Loud clacking sound, jamming in fuser ? sounds like the gear that turns the fuser are bad and not meshing together,
accordion jam is the fingers or claws that ride on the fuser roller are probably worn out ( these can be replaced usually 3-5 ).

You can buy the parts and replace them yourself if a handy person, not that difficult.

I had a similar problem, more of a snapping sound than clicking, but this is what worked for me - pull the paper tray out and "loosen" the rear paper limiter by unlocking it, move it back about 1/8-1/4" and then re-lock it

Major problems when trying to print, Jamming alot & grinding noise

If the paper is an accordion type jam, you should replace the 4 small rollers, the upper feed roller, the upper feed guide, and the lower rollers. all of these are listed on hp's part surfer website.
RF5-0425-040cn, RF5-0434-000cn, RF5-0432-000cn, and RF5-0438-000cn respectively. Basically, get a new exit output assembly part number RG5-0456-180cn.
Does this help?

GRINDING NOISE or PAPER JAM

If you are not a technical person best thing to do is to show it to an expert. grinding noise means some part in the machine is running with the friction. and might brake something or scratch something. Find out persons who work on photocopiers in your area either samsung or Xerox. as this model comes with both the companies and Xerox people are generly better than samsung people.
