Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2 Digital Camera
My Camera was about 13 months old. Then after taking some inside photos the batteries needed to be changed. The button had fallen off when I was changing the batteries. I could still take a picture if I put it back on so I put a bandaid on it to hold it in place. It worked for a little but now the camera is useless.:(
I am hoping the my Visa Card extended warrenty will cover it. In any case this happened before my big trip to Bali and I was very disappointed that I could not take it with me. The pictures it used to take were great.
The Sony dealer in Vancouver wants between $119.00 an 200.00 for the repair.
If you can do the repair yourself, you can buy either the complete
shutter button assembly for about $40, or there is a repair kit
available where you rebuild the broken button.
There is only ONE PLACE to buy the repair kit with instructions: DARNTOOTHYSAM com. Do a Google search for 'digital camera parts' and Darntoothysam is the first listing shown. Feel free to look elsewhere but you won't find the $20 repair kit anywhere else and on the Darntoothysam blog page there are instructions to tell you how to install it yourself.
If you don't want to try and install it, there is a repair package on Darntoothysam for only $50 that includes the part and installation plus return shipping of the camera to you!
Hope this helps.
