Question about Westinghouse Electric SK-26H730S 26 in. LCD TV
I have a Westinghouse LCD 26" TV. Model SK-26H730S. I'm trying to program a comcast DTA remote. Here is the link for the remote (to see model) http://www.easypctutorials.com/how-to-program-a-comcast-remote. I have tried many 5 digit codes. The only one that worked was "10000" but that code only enabled the remote to turn the TV on and off. Channel, nor volume buttons (do not) work still. Please advise.

Hello, there are two things you can do to stop this, one is to perform a factory reset. You can do this by going to the menu, go under the settings tab, and select the last option which is the reset option. Another this you can try is to do a power reset which is to unplug the unit from the back of the TV for atleast a minute. If this all fails than you are looking to change the main board. You can find price and availability for parts on your TV at email@example.com. If you need further assistance or would like me to troubleshoot with you please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also please rate me if this information was helpful.

There can be several causes for this, few of which you can do anything about. However, a few things to try.
1) Replace the batteries on your remote control.
2) Try resetting the logic functions on your tv by unplugging it for a minute, then plugging it back in.
3) Try covering up the infra-red receptor on the front of your TV to see if you're getting unwanted signals from the receptor. taping a piece of foil over that area is perfect. If it doesn't stop after doing these two things you'll probably need to take it to a shop.
4) If this does stop it, then look for unexpected signal sources. Have you added a remote control extender? Added a new device to your audio-video system? Changed to a new remote?
Good luck with your problem...I hope you can work it out.
