It sounds like you don't clear the stick after taking the pictures. Try re-formatting the stick through the camera menu.

When I import from the camera to iphoto, duplicates of every picture import

I have the same problem!!! Every single time I import from my Nikon D90 I get duplicates of each photo on Iphoto. It never happened in 4 years, just recently does happen. Is it a setting from camera or from Iphoto? How to avoid this, without having to create separate folders on desktop as mentioned above. I just want to plug the USB and download on Iphoto without doing anything else. It gets frustrating as I usually download thousands of photos each month.

How do i rename pictures so that my computer won't think they are duplicates?

Rename the photos on the computer before you download the new photos.
OR
Create a new folder (say Photos1) in another area away from where the existing photos are located in your computer and move all the existing existing into the new Photo1 folder.
Then when you download the new photos from your camera then there will be no conflict or the need to rename the existing photos.
Later, you will need to create another folder and move the current photos into this folder before you download the next lot of photos from your camera.

How can I download my recent pictures to my pc on my GE A730 camera? It wants to download all 41 I have, but I only want the most recent to avoid deleting all those duplicates I already have saved

Please see this blog article, as it describes the use of an inexpensive USB card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue.

Do yourself a favor and purchase a USB Memory card reader at Radio Shack or other electronic store for about $10. You simply put your card in there and it becomes another drive on your PC. Then you can drag and drop your photos in Windows Explorer. This will also save you from having to run your camera batteries every time you want to dump pictures to your PC. This is how I've always done it and I can do it all in less than a minute. I just keep the USB card reader right in my camera bag. You should also be able to see your camera in Windows Explorer, as well and do the same thing; I just like the card reader better.

The Kodak easy share program deletes pictures that I am downloading thinking that they are duplicates

The easyshare program isn't so easy...is it? Stop using it and use a card reader to download to a folder you create on your desktop. Then, if you have any duplicates, you can delete them yourself. typrice_197.jpg

Your camera is not numbering consecutively...it is starting over each time...hence the duplicate numbers. You can use a card reader to download the pics to a folder you create on your desktop. From there, you can right-click the duplicates and rename them.

My easy share software will check for duplicates and then not upload anything because it is recognizing all of the pictures as duplicates. please help!

Your camera is creating new folders and not continuing the number sequence resulting in duplicate numbers on different pictures. You need to use a card reader to download pictures to a folder you create on your desktop. Open the folder and examine the pictures. If you find different pictures but with the same numbers, you will need to manually rename them.

Some pictures already there

Try using a separate card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop. Then you can carefully rename the ones that the computer thinks are duplicates and then move them to their final destination. Your camera is obviously creating new folders but not continuing the sequence of numbers on the photos. You might want to e-mail one of Kodak's tech people with your problem to see if they've come up with a work-around.

Reset the camera to record once, not duplicates of the same pic

There is a small button on top, right next to the Mode Dial. That's the button.
