I just bought a new AC adapter, and a New Battery it is still doing the same thing except it is also shutting down by itself. It will sometimes work for hours, and then other times it just seems like you barely get it turned on and it shuts off.

I think your battery is faulty. Not charging anymore has reached his lifetime. Replace the battery.

Plugged in not charging

On some devices, like my work Lenovo laptop, it'll stop and just trickle charge when the battery is at 97%. That's a feature, not a bug, designed to help avoid overcharging and damaging your battery and device. Try running on battery for a little while and reconnect the AC adapter. You should notice it's charging again. If it doesn't, post back.

HP Mini 2140 "Plugged in, charging" but not charging

Hello jorel, most likely its a failure of the system board particularly the charging section, a broken pin or a loose terminal. work will be internal, suggest you do away with the battery. its better to operate it at home, or bring the charger with you. Maybe its time to get a new one.

Is the battery good? A replacement battery? Remove battery and re insert. What indication gives you the idea that it's not charging? No charge light on? In software, the icon in tray notification area?

Plugged in not charging

First, check to see there is no physical damage around the charging port, then if you have a AVO meter, check that the charging cord is actually putting out a current; then go to the BIOS and look inside. if you see
Adapter , Unknown device installed, that is your answer - it isn't a Dell charger. Now go to https://www.dell.com/community/General/Dell-Inspiron-1525-new-battery-not-charging-in-BIOS-showing/m-p/4709466

If that message is not there

1. Ensure that the battery is securely in the laptop and that none of the pins on the computer or battery are dirty.
2. Consider that there was nothing wrong with the old battery but the circuit on the motherboard that controls the charging is faulty - there is usually one chip that is at fault in this case.
3. The new battery is completely discharged: does the battery show signs of life when used without the charging cable? If it does, this is not the problem

I have just bought the acer aspire 5750 and had it for 2 days. I have just realised that my battery is not charging it says '0% available (plugged in, not charging)'. I have taken out the battery and

Exit windows and shut it down.
Leave it plugged in and it will start charging.
There is no need to charge the battery when in use as it knows it is connected to the mains power and only charges when shut down.

Battery of laptop not charging

If the laptop works when plugged in, the power supply is OK. The battery controller is probably the problem, which would mean replacing the battery.
