Camera got dropped, lens got pushed in on one side? If you can straighten it yourself by pulling it out straight on that side, it might work perfectly afterwards.

Lens will not retract not batteries

Hello
You especially might consider this if the lens barrel appears obviously damaged, bent, or crooked such as from a fall. Try forcing the lens. More people have reported success with this method than with any of the other methods. HOWEVER, there's obviously some potential for damaging your camera by using this method. Variations include gently pulling, rotating, and/or twisting the lens barrel while hitting the power button. Attempt to straighten or align the barrel if it's crooked or twisted. Another variation includes looking for uneven gaps around the lens barrel, and then pushing on the side of the lens barrel that has the largest gap (note pushing the lens barrel all the way in is NOT recommended as it may become stuck there). While doing any of the above, listen for a click that indicates that the lens barrel guide pins may have reseated in their guide slots. If you hear this click, immediately stop and try the camera.
hope it helps, if not take camera to the technician, if so

MY DIGITAL CAMERA IS A VPC-S770 AND IS READING ERROR 1114 ON THE LENS

This is what the Sanyo Customer Service team responded with for me, and it worked:

Take a look at the lens to see if it is crooked or mis-aligned. If it is, with the camera turned off, try to straighten the lens to see if it will click back into place. If it does, turn the camera on and off a couple of times to see if the lens will open and close as normal and then try using the camera as normal.
If the lens is not crooked or straightening does not solve the problem, the camera will need to be serviced.
The warranty coverage period is 90 days for parts and labor.
For non-warranty service, check your yellow pages for camera repair to have a local service technician take a look at the camera for you.
Please consider that the normal out of warranty labor cost can be around $ 75.00, this does not include the cost of parts and return freight upon completion of repairs.

Jammed lens

Hey latyrant,
If the lens visibly looks crooked then the lens is probably broken and needs to be repaired by an authorized service technician. One thing you could try is placing the camera on a flat surface with the lens pointed up and holding the shutter button in, while doing this turn the camera on. Sometimes this will force the camera to try and focus before the camera can register the lens problem and sometimes it will force the lens back into alignment. If this doesn't work you could bring it to a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store and they could send it out to get looked at by a technician. I will say that the cost of digital camera repairs often exceed the value of the product. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Dropped camera. lens open and crooked

Sorry to say you have broken the lens, replacement of the lens is the only practical repair and if you cant swap one yourself from a dead camera it would be beyond economical repair.
If you are adventurous you could buy a faulty one of ebay and swap the lens or if the faulty one has a broken screen or mode dial swap yours over to the faulty one..
there are a couple of "tricks" do getting this camera open drop me a line if you decide to proceed...

best of luck
