You might have to put another calendar back onto your palm. But first, check to make sure it has not just erased itself from the desktop. Go to my computer and and click on the "c" hard drive. Go up to the top and click on search. Go to the side where it says "what do you want to search for?" and click on all files and folders. Put calendar in both of the boxes and click search. If it doesn't show, then you might need to install another calendar from the software cd that came with it.

Are you using outlook or palm desktop? Once I have more information we can see if there is a way. Have you been backing up your data on any sort of schedule? I am assuming by your question you haven't. I can also recommend some back up procedures and software so this will not be an issue in the future. Please take a moment to accept and rate my solution appropriately. I can also assist you further with any questions.
Thanks,
Lee

Check the calendar on your computer using Palm Desktop application.

If it is present you could restore the data to handheld .

go to the folder in Program Files/PalmOne/(my user name)/Calendar. There is a file named datebook.dat and another named datebook.bak. The .dat file is smaller and will hve today's date, while the larger .bak will hve the date of the last hotsync rename the .dat file datebook-bad.dat and then copy the .bak file to datebook.dat.

Dear sir/madam,

You shouldn't have to import your addressbook. Just move the address.dat file to your c:\Program Files\Palm\Your Username\address folder and then Palm desktop should then read the file directly. An ABA file would only exist if you had archived your addressbook file and, even then, you'd do a File, Open Archive to use it, not a File, Import.

thanks
good luck

Hi,

You can do a hard reset to completely restore all the data of your palm. But this will erase all your current settings and restore it to the factory default.Factory default is nothing but it restores the device to the settings when you purchased this one.Reply back to me and i'll tell you how to do a hard reset.

Outlook calendar will not synch to handheld

Here are two resource pages which hopefully will help. The first is Palm support page with an update to download for users of Outlook 2003. The second is a discussion thread of Treo users troubleshooting the same problem. Even if the PDA is different, the issue (and error code) is practically the same, Rather than cut and paste what I think is relevant, read the thread and see if one of the solutions listed helps you.

http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/pim_update.html

http://discussion.treocentral.com/archive/index.php/t-96051.html

Let us know how you make out.

PS - What PDA, operating systems (PC and PDA) and version of Outlook are you using?

Lost calendar on hotsync

The information is unfortunately lost.

Unless you synced the palm on another computer, the palm only can back up the information when synced.

So if you sync it and the computer overwrites the handheld, the information never made it to the computer and thus cannot be restored.

The only thing you could check would be the backup folder in the palm directory under your profile name. Palm puts all of the .prc/.pdb files in there when you sync.

Treo 650 (cingular) and Outlook calendar

Its the substandard conduits that come with the 650. Hi - my issues were different than yours, but similar in that bottom line, my calendar data wasn't syncing correctly with Outlook. I've been dealing with this problem for the past 4 weeks. Sprint's technical support was useless, as was palmone. For 5 years, I have successfully synced my Palm Smart phone to palm desktop at home, and outlook at work - (4 different phones, 4 different companies). It dawned on me - for the past 4 palm devices, I was provided Chapura conduits... The 650 didn't come with them... GUESS WHAT. I bought Chapura Professional XT and all the issues I was having (they were too copious and too weird to go into here) were solved, in one measly synchronization. ALL of them. Don't wast ANY more of your time... Navigate over to Chapura's website and get one of the conduit programs -= trust me... You'll be glad you did.

Cannot SYNC Outlook Calendar and Contacts

Probably one of these issues - your data is there but you are looking in the wrong place. I am trying to sync my outlook calendar and contacts via Hotsync on a Palm IIIc. It gives me the status of OK, but nothing shows up on the Palm. I have set the custom on Hotsync to desktop overwrites handheld, but still will not work. Thanks.

Corrupt Date Book Fixed

Updated Instructions Simple fix for a corrupted Date Book sync error (at least it worked for me on my Treo 650). 1). Turn off 'Show Calendar Event' in the Phones 'Options - General Preferences' menu. 2). Turn off phone. 3). Set the Date/Time to the maximum limits (12/31/31) in Preferences. 4). Open the Calendar and view the maximum day 12/31/31. 5). Select 'Purge - (Delete events older then 1 week)' in the Calendars Options menu. 6). Reset the Date/Time to the current day in Preferences. 7). Hotsync (Desktop Calendar overwrites handheld). 8). Hotsync again to make sure you don’t get the error (Synchronize the files). That’s it. =============================== Outlook Calendar The attempt to open the database failed. Date Book application database is not found. Please invoke the Date Book application on the handheld once and re-synchronize. OLERR:05-0001 OLERR:0D-0004 OLERR:0D-0001 - Not Synchronized Outlook Calendar synchronization failed OLERR:15-0002 OLERR:06-0001 ===============================
