My Phililips 42" tv has loud static sound when turned off

Occasionally when I turn off my 42" TV it will start to have a loud static sound coming from the TV that will not stop until I turn the Televison back on. I have had to leave the tv on for the last 5 days. Can you help, has anyone else heard of this problem?

SOURCE: I have a 50" philips plasma , shuts off and blinks red light 2 and 7 times Y main board module problem?

It is your Y sus board. Most of the time one of the buffers goes bad and takes out the Y sus. If you do the repair.YOU NEED TO REPLACE BOTH BUFFER BOARDS also. If your buffers are bad, they will dammage your new board. If you have a multimeter you can check if the buffers are shorted.Check the upper buffer by placeing one lead to the first pin of the black connector and the other lead on the third pin.You should have 500 or more ohms resistance. If none, reverse the leads. If your reading is less than 200 ohms like about 70-120 ohms even reversing the test leads. Your board is bad. Testing the lover buffer is about the same,Just test the last pin,and the third to the last pin. same results apply. If you install your new Ysus with a buffer that is bad,it will short out the diode "D5018" on the Y sus.Near the upper black connector,or even short out the main IC.You can also have your board rebuilt, There is a company on Ebay. I have used them once. Worked great. And fast as hell..o delivery. Hope this helps.

I have a 42 inch Hitachi plasma tv that is making a very loud static noice coming from the internal speakers. It stays at a contstant very loud volume unless I completly mute the tv or turn the volum

Based on what you have tried if a buzz or loud static via the speakers you have something wrong in the audio output circuit of the set--problem here is that circuit may be part of the Main board that processes all signal---a look inside---following the speaker leads back would lead you to that board.

A simple thing to do to narrow it a little (you may have done this) is with sound all the way off put your ear to the internal speaker--hear anything at all like a deep hum?

Depending on age of set and cost of the board likely bad it may or may not be a do it yourself repair.

Hello.
It looks like you ignored lamp replacement in your TV. It have to be replaced every 2.5 years of average use. It's like oil change in a car. Regular scheduled service.
You can read info about lamp replacement in your TV owner's manual, buy lamp on-line and replace it by yourself to save some money.
Regards.
Russ.

Loud static noise without warning

The audio may be randomly disconnecting or something. I know that when my TV has no signal coming in, that it makes a bunch of loud static.

Do you have to turn the TV off and then on again to get the sound prob to go away? Our sound problem happens 10 to 15 x per day depending on how long the TV is on.

Try turning off different lights near the room or in the room that it is in. Our tv does that if the overhead light in our bedroom is on, it's a room right next to our living room.

My toshibia model 27d46 tv will not turn on

Toshiba flat-screen digital SDTV, 27", won't turn on. Was difficult to turn on for awhile, but some channels had no sound, others that were in English usually, would suddenly turn into Spanish language. A loud static noise would occasionally come on, and then go. TV just won't even turn on now. Is there any possible repair that would be less expensive then replacing the set? I can't lift the set,as it is much too heavy. I'm a senior, and I'm strong, but not that strong.

Weird, annoying noise every so often

Is this happening on just on input?

If so... Check your connections. If you are using the component cables, make sure you haven't plugged the right audio into the red video input. it's a common mistake. I see it all the time.

If this is happening on all inputs, be sure the noise is coming from the speakers. Then replace the main board.

Loud hum when attempting to turn on my RCA F27628 27"TV

could be that the main b+ filter Capacitor went bad and blew up. Also could have been the horizontal output transistor shorted and the flyback poped. In eather case it would be recommended that you take this set into a repair shop unless your familar with HV circuits in tv sets. Good Luck
