Press F2 or the Delete key to enter the bios. There's usually an option to load the default settings and then save and exit. Check the Exit menu, it might be there.

Skip bios password

Try this Method:

One of the most common methods to reset the BIOS password is to remove or discharge the battery on the computer's motherboard. If the power to the battery is lost or drained, the BIOS configuration will be reset to the factory state with no password. System settings made to the BIOS will also be lost.
Step 1 - Turn off the computer and ensure it has no external power (ie unplug the power cable. If it has a battery, remove it).
Step 2 - Open the computer's case or box.
Step 3 - Locate the computer's motherboard and look for the white silver button battery on the motherboard.
Step 4 - If the battery is not soldered to the motherboard, remove it carefully and wait for approximately 30 seconds.
Step 5 - Put the computer case back together and boot the computer.
Step 6 - If the "CMOS Checksum Error-Defaults Loaded" error message is displayed, the BIOS password has been reset.
In the event the CMOS battery is soldered to the computer's motherboard, you will want to seek a different method to reset the BIOS password on the computer.

Did you run the utlity to put the firmware onto a floppy disc or cd so that it can boot up on the disc to install it?

The utility is available for download in the same section that you got the firmware update from.

After bios update aspire 4410 not boot

nplug computer, set jumber to reset RTC and remove batery.Remove every device on the PC including peripherals except for CPU, 1 stick of RAM, DVD OR FLOPPY (whichever you will reflash from).Plug PC and power on [YES, with battery OUT and jumper still on RESET RTC], hold delete (MUST USE PS/2 Keyboard) if you're lucky you'll be able to enter the BIOS and use EZFLASH to reflash BIOS, it supports USB thumb drive provided it's formatted to FAT.Reflash (the flash could have been successful but they released a bad buggy BIOS, if so then reflash with the earlier version) After flashing the PC will reset itself DO NOT INTERFERE! When the computer boots up you should expect a CMOS error message (it's normal because you just reflashed).Power off, unplug PC, replace battery and return RTC jumbers to normal.Reconnect everything and plug PC back in and power on and enter BIOS settings.

My BD300 which is just over a year old has stopped reading DVDs. It displays 'Reading' then 'Disc Error' and ejects them It still plays Blu ray

Hello
Just reset the player to its original factory settings and try. If the BIOS ic has confused with so many external commands, this type of problem will occur. By reset it to factory settings will clear the BIOS. To reset do the following.

Press and hold the POWER button for more than

five seconds. This will force the Player to power

off. Press the POWER button again to turn the
Player back on.

Unplug the power cord and then plug the power
cord again after more than five seconds
OK.

Hi,
Welcome to Fixya. You can use the 2 methods below to try to fix the issue
Method 1 - Update BIOS Firstly, if you can get past the error and actually boot into the OS, then you want to try and download the latest version of the BIOS. If you can't get past the error, make sure you try to load the computer in Safe Mode and see if the OS loads.
Another thing you can try is to enter the Setup and disable the wireless component on the laptop. Then try to restart the computer and see if you can get past the "unsupported wireless network device" error.
If so, go to the HP update site (http://www.hp.com/#Support) and type in the model number for your HP laptop. Download the latest version of the BIOS and install it!
Method 2 - Reset the BIOS If that doesn't work, you'll have to try resetting the BIOS. In order to do this, you have to restart the HP computer and then press the F10 key while the HP logo is showing. Press it a couple of times during the initial boot up if you can't get in immediately.
Now go to the Exit menu and select Load Setup Defaults. Finally choose Exit saving changes.
After resetting the BIOS, you'll have to perform an OS repair install. This is a pretty long guide in itself, so I'll direct you to a great post that walks through each step in performing the repair install. Not that it will NOT delete any of your data or programs.
Just let me know what happen. Thanks

Error Message: F12=Network Service Boot

The BIOS may have reset to the default settings. Sounds like this was originally a workstation on a Corporate Domain Network. Access the BIOS and reset the boot order for CD first, then Hard Drive - you can even disable Network as a boot option. Power spike won't affect the Hard Drive contents, but it can reset a BIOS. Your win2000 should be intact.

Error Message on 1st page boot up

Hi Chris,
Reset the bios jumper on the board. Use your manual, go to the bottom of page 9. Please unplug the power cord from the PC.
Clear the cmos/ bios & remove the bios battery as well. (You may use a small flat tip screw driver to help lift the battery out). If you have a voltage meter check the battery for 3volts DC. (If you have a voltage meter suggest you check the battery for 3volts DC while its out).
Re-place the bios battery & reset the bios jumper back to Normal. Re-connect the power cord to the PC. Boot the system & enter the bios menu. Adjust all your setting as needed.
(DO Not over-clock anything)!
If you still receive an error message your only other option would be to flash the bios. Even if you have the latest bios software already installed. The current bios software may be corrupt.
