You have a high-voltage leak to the transfer corona. This could be due to several different things, usually it's a dirty corona, maybe excessive dust or toner in the corona assembly. Toner conducts electricity and can leak voltage from the transfer corona to the frame. It may also be the "end-blocks," the thing in the back of the machine into which the transfer corona plugs when you close the drawer and lift up on the green handle. These crack and can cause intermittant failure.
I would start by taking a can of air and thoroughly blowing out the corona assembly and see what that does for you...

The waste toner container is full. the front cover of the machine (the one with the Canon logo on it) must be removed. behind you will see a big white plastic bottle. Remove the bottle, empty the contents into the bin, wipe it off, and refit all removed parts. Finally restart the copier.

This is error between the reader and the copier. The reader cannot be detected at startup. Problably you will have to power down the copier, reseat the cable from the reader and restart. If this again fails you may have a reader controller board problem
