LAPTOP to TV Connection

Many people today want to connect their computer to a TV. Most HDTVs today have a VGA input for computer hookup. Most laptops also have a VGA output for external display. Using a male to male VGA cable, the computer can use a HDTV for a display. Sound is connected using a 3.5mm audio cable. See this web page for complete details.

The screen resolution setting determines how much information is displayed on the display screen. It is measured horizontally and vertically in pixels. At lower screen resolutions, such as 640 x 480, fewer items will fit on the screen, but they will be larger. At higher resolutions, such as 1600 x 1200, more items will fit on the screen but they will be smaller. The resolution options will vary with each computer based on the video card device, monitor size, and video & monitor drivers. If the screen looks distorted or fuzzy, then you may have an incorrect screen resolution size set for your monitor. In Windows you can change the screen resolution to match the TVs capabilities. How do i enlarge the print on the screen

there are several things you can do, change the screen resolution, or change the size of the text, to do this go to Control Panel - Appearance and Personalization - Display then click the 125% radio button and apply. in versions of windows older than windows 7, this process may be slightly different, this option may be in the ease of access centre. if you have trouble changing either of these things type your operating system and change screen resolution or change text size into google. to change the screen resolution go to control panel and in appearance and personalisation click adjust screen resolution, this will make everything look bigger, try to keep near the same aspect ratio or photos and text will look distorted or stretched.

C840 resolution difficulties...

The type of screen you have is a UXGA screen. the optimal resolution for that is 1600 x 1200. changing the resolution for that will distort the screen causing black borders. If a computer has a 15.0+" SXGA+ screen with an optimized resolution of 1400x1050 and the screen's current resolution is set to 1280x1024 pixels, the display will shrink resulting in a black border surrounding the edges of the screen. Also, all other lower resolutions may be stretched to fit the screen. No border will be visible, but fonts may appear slightly fuzzy.
