The heatsink may be clogged with dust and the heat cannot be removed quick enough so the fan is working overtime.
Remove the dust from the heatsink, you may need to use a can of compressed air.

Fan only runs on high speed

Wild guess the fan was replaced with a one speed motor. Or the selector switch is bad or not connected. Or the relay/s for other speeds are not getting thermostat signal for some reason.

I have a Samsung electric dryer model # DV218AEBXAA IT TURNS ON the display shows the cycle symbol and >> >> but it doesnt run. Whar can i do, it is out of warranty?

warranty depends your sales slip if you have one, and the owner's manual.
If Hair dryer, wild guess the fan inlet area is covered or blocked with hair so the internal parts are getting too hot. There is a thermal switch which makes it shuts down for safety reasons.
Otherwise the same problem may be hair wrapped around the fan and causing a similar problem.

times 2, what fan................/?????? point to it or name it... (exact location)
answering for front grill, condenser fan.
cab fan is called blower.
are you a tech>? do you want just wild blind guessing?
no , own a $10 volt meter, well that is easy to use. (1hr, training)

if there is 12vdc to the fan up in grill. then the fan is bad.
if 0v the relay is either bad or being told not to energize.
if the relay coil is 0v (across it)
then the relay is commanded off for due cause.
more tests.. ask.

there are 8 reasons for the (BRAINS box) to cut fan. up to 8.
if the brain box goes to cut A.C
it cuts the compressor and fan.
we can find this easy with that same meter.
in a jiffy.
but most here , just want blind guessing
so here , ill feed the flames.
the fan relay is bad.
ask me tomorrow
and the fan is bad....

I dont think my fan is working

there is a fuse for every load on the car, or car will catch fire. sooner or later......
the other fact is , many fuses are shared. some have 15 loads. (park)
think fan is working, ?
which one.?
1: cab heater
2: A/C condenser fan (extreme front of car)
3: the RAD fans, (see behind RAD)

tell fan? and I can tell which fuse.
the glove box guide , has a fuse page. lost that?

my guess, ? is the fan is OUT side the drivers CAB
"think" tell me its fan 2 or 3 above.
the tests for those fans is in the FSM.

the A/C fan turns on if A/C or defrost is selected. unless its
N.Pole weather. (it has logic that cuts this fan , under some wild conditions (unstated by you) what country? what latitude?.

the RAD fan, comes on , if you. (location not stated so, wild guess...)
1: drive 20miles
2: park and idle
3: as coolant passes 200F, near 230F, the rad fans come on
this is because the RAD is near useless , parked. (no air flow)

The FSM covers these tests.

RAD = engine coolant Radiator.

Dell insipirion 530s power light stays orange fan running wild

Hi deb lewis,
the orange power light is your warning that your power supply is going bad. I'd replace the power supply with the same size or larger (preferred)
Best of Luck

Hi wild 36.
I think the problem may be a bad run capacitor. If the outside unit is humming with no action, that may be it.

This could also cause the outside unit circuit breaker to trip.
