I think you meant the access key password for your wireless security and not the password for the router itself (2 separate passwords).
I'll give you both solutions starting with the wireless key password.
1. access the router configuration page by typing http://192.168.1.1 in your browsr. 2. This should pop up a log in window asking for user name & password 3. The default settings for a linksys router say to leave the username blank and type admin for the password. 4. once you're in look for the Wireless tab and click it then click on wireless security 5. your password will be listed there in the shared key box.
Now if its your router access password that you need you'll need to reset the router if you can't remember it and then follow the steps above to create a wireless security password. Here's how you reset the router. Remember that all custom settings you may have set will be erased and the router will go back to original factory configuration settings
1. On the back of the router you'll find a small hole or indentation and it may or may not have the word reset printed by it. 2. Find a paper clip or something of the same size and use it to press the reset button for about 2-3 seconds 3. Router will be reset

The password is something that you set. You will need to log into your router to see what the password is if you have no idea. To log into your router go to http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 in your browser - whichever one brings up the router...
For the password put in "admin" without the quotes and leave the username blank. Go to the wireless security settings tab and there you will find the password. It may show up as just ****** in which case you will want to click in there and change it to something you will remember.
Thanks so much, please let me know if you can't get it or if you have more questions / comments. Just reply to my answer here and I can help.

SOURCE: Kindle 3rd Generation -- Linksys
I don't have a solution -- I'm having the exact same problem and I'm looking for a solution. Called Kindle tech support, and all they could recommend was to go to McDonald's to see if I can connect using their wireless. They DID say this Linksys WRT54G router is a compatible router with the 3rd Gen Kindle.

If you have forgotten your password you can reset the router to its factory state and setup a new password for it. Resetting the router will wiped out all changes that have been saved. To reset the router, look for the small hole at the back of it. Press and hold it for 10-15 seconds using a Pen or Paperclip. Then access the router settings page so that you can personalize the settings.
For you to access your router you need a working computer that is connected to the router and open a browser type 192.168.1.1 to he address bar and it will ask you for a username and password. The default username is "leave it blank" and the default password is admin.
Rate me if this helps so i can help others.
Thanks for using Fixya
