I have a serious blue tint to everything on the screen and can not get rid of it. If watching a movie with sunshining on someone's face in the film.....that part of the face dissappears into a white out effect.

Anyone know how to fix this, already tried all the menu options several times in severl different combinations.

    Thanks for your help

Green tint is often replated to faulty lcd loom cable open unit power up and jiggle the loom cable a multi stranded connecting cable...this cable often gets corrosion on the pins..if this is the problem spray lightly with anti corrosive lubricating spray eg q20 or other use a cable tie to resecure this loom tightly to a nearby post etc to apply tension to this cable...or replace this loom if faulty refer to local service agents.

Green tint on tv and picture randomly cuts out

Sounds like a Sony, if it uses a lamp the green cast is most likely the optical light engine in the set---major part.

Images on screen are very red. Tried adjusting everything in the menu but still every thing is like glowing red.

Color balance is labeled "Tint"
Color amount is labeled "Color"

Both are in the "picture" adjustments menu.

Either your tint is swung too far to red, or the color setting is wide open making normally pink faces look sunburned...likely it's a combination of the two; Too much red, and a bit too much color.

Going back to the "default factory setting" in "setup" will also drop all settings to center.

I can't seem to correct a tint problem. The tv turns on and the tint doesn't change. A friend says it could be a vidoe card?

Go to menue on controller, then Picture, then adjust Color and Tint to you taste. The color ajusts Blue and Green move left more blue move the slider right more green. The Tint controlls red. More red move right less left. Also chech Color temp setting.

Here is something that may help from the toshiba.com website under your model number television. Q. Why are people on my screen green?
Models: 32HL17, 37HL17, 42HL17, 42HL167, 47HL167, 52HL167, 42HL167, 42LX177, 46LX177, 52LX177, 57LX177

If the problem is not the connections, try adjusting the tint on your television. A high tint setting will usually create a green
image on the screen where as a low tint will create a more red hue. In order to access your television's tint:
1. Press the “MENU” button on your remote control and use the LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys and select the
VIDEO menu.
2. Then use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to highlight PICTURE SETTINGS and press the "ENTER" button on
your remote.
3. Next use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to highlight TINT then use the LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys to adjust the
TINT. If the picture is too green the tint will need to be lowered.
4. Once you have adjusted the tint to your liking, use the DOWN arrow key to highlight DONE and press ENTER. The toshiba customer service telephone number is : 1-800-631-3811. I hope this helps you with your problem.

I'll check on your specific model, but this problem is usually caused by degradation of the LCD light engine. Hopefully we can work around it for the short term. I'll update this with the model specific info in a day or so (I'm traveling at the moment).
