Hi, Welcome to Fixya. The security key can be found when you access the wireless settings page of the router. To access the router page you need a working computer that is connected to the router. To access the router page just open a browser then type 192.168.2.1, the Default password is blank.
Click on Security under Wireless and look for the Security Key or Network Key (Passphrase)
If you have questions please let me know. Thanks for using Fixya.
Yes, it is possible to set up this device without the disk.
You'll need to download the "quick router setup" program from the D-Link web site here:
At that site, click the "Support Resources" tab, then click the "Additional Downloads" link, and finally click on the "Download Now" button next to the "Quick Router Setup" entry.
This will download an executable file to your Windows machine. Be sure to save the file to your desktop, and then double-click the .exe file and follow the directions.
This was very difficult to find, but I found it just for you! Please make sure you rate my answer 4 thumbs up! Thanks so much for understanding, it would be a huge help to me. I would be forever grateful if you could do this for me. To view the manual you will need adobe reader, which you can get for free from http://get.adobe.com/reader/ You probably already have it though, please try opening the file first and find out. Here is the manual / guide please give it a few minutes the file is quite large:
Hi! I will be more than glad to assist u in this concern..Please dont use the setup cd or setup wizard. you can access the setup page of the router by typing at the url:192.168.0.1 then it will ask for the user name and password, by default the username is admin and the password, leave it blank.. here are the things u need to check before u setup u router.. .. if you
are using a cable modem from ur cable company provider- u need to do a
mac clone on the router u have to clone the mac address of ur computer.
normaly the mac of ur computer is the one register to your cable
company and on the setup page of the router just selct on the internet
setup, dhcp after clonning the mac address of your computer. u need to
connect ur computer directly to the router and then after doing the
process connect the router to the modem. if u are using a username and
password, u have to use the pppoe settings on the router, if ur isp set
a static ip , set it up to the router, to check the ip setting of your
isp.. connect the computer directly to the modem and check if u have
internet.. then click on start, run and type cmd,it will give u a dos
prompt and from there type ipconfig/all and it will show u the ip
address, subnetmask, default gateway, dns server.. I hope this will
solve ur concern..
you do not need the disk. you can log in to belkin router by typing 192.168.2.1 and press Enter, in your internet explorer (in the address bar ), click on "wireless" on the left, click submit without entering anything (for the password), and you can click on security. and u can setup the key from there. but best to call them and theywill help you. call them at this number 8777365771
Just connect the computer wired on the computer your mac and no need to run the disc because it will not read it because the cd for linksys is good only for windows. You may OPEN safarri or IE browser, then try type on the address bar 192.168.1.1 - nothing for username and password is admin.
from there you may configure the router on what type of internet connection you have from you ISP, don't forget to save settings...
this type of problem can be fixed very in simple steps :-
reset the router and install belkin router setup from belkin site
go to wireless settings and setup user name and password
now follow the instructions and try to connect your devices for more assistance contact belkin Services .i hope this will help you ..thanks
