Try googling the name of the saw, and the manufacturer.
I'm certain that using the name of the saw AND manufacturer you'll be able to find a phone number which you can call and order parts from.

How do I install new on/off switch on Skil Saw 3400

make sure you have it unplugged, turn it upside down so you can access the switch , put a thick towel or something over the blade to prevent shredding your hand, or better yet remove the blade, unscrew the wire support if any, de-press the switch tabs and it should slide out through the front, replace with a factory switch, or go to the hardware store and get a switch you can mount in its place, be sure it can handle 120v AC 15-20 amps, or what ever your saws' previous switch was rated for. If you use a different switch try to get one with a safety cover so you don't accidentally turn it on.

Hitachi 18v cordless circular saw need to know who can repair it.live in richmond va

Go to the Hitachi website, http://www.hitachipowertools.com/index.aspx, and under 'Service & Support' you can search by your zip code to find a service center near you. If it's the newer LXT line of tools it is now covered by a lifetime warranty so look for an Authorized Service Center to check on that.

I need a new switch but i can't get in touch with anybody to order a new one. There's a small copper piece inside the switch and it broke so im trying to get a new one. It's a Airco 10"...

Check the manufacturer's website for authorized tool repair shops in your area. They can either do it for you or order the part. If not check the Yellow Pages for tool repair shops or specialty tool stores, not your typical warehouse store though.

I need to replace the switch on my Airco Apt 640 Mitre saw,but do not know where to get one. Can you help me. Is it a common switch that I can buy at a hardware or electrical store. Thanks

Hello. Do you have a replacement switch yet? I have the same saw (Airco branded APT 640). The smoke just got out of the handle of mine. Opening it up I see my switch is fine, but I think it is a rectifier module that burned up.

Inside the handle is a small switch near the trigger interlock button.

The switch looks like a fairly common sort of micro switch, possibly called a Limit Switch (although some limit switch are much larger and more elaborate. If you can't find it at something like The Source (previously Radio Shack, but they carry a lot fewer components than before) you could try somewhere like Electro Sonic in Toronto http://www.e-sonic.com Unfortunately their online catalog is hard to look through. Right across the parking lot from them is Active Components, but I can't a website for them. Maybe you have to start at Future Electronics. There are Active Component stores in various locations worldwide. Good Luck!

Am I wise to purchase a Remington Pole Saw or should look for another manufacturer? Which Remington Pole Saw would you purchase: a. 18V Cordless b. 10" Electric

Remington Saws have ceased operations and, unless you like to make your own replacement parts, they are prone to failure. The gearbox is sealed and the motor brushes are not available anywhere. Look elsewhere!

Wiring varible speed swith for a Makita JR3000V reciporcating saw

The replacement switch, is it Makita and was it a direct replacement for the original part? That could make a difference. I looked at the schematics for this tool and they do not furnish the wiring codes but I think you are on the right track. To make sure though I would call Makitas tech support people at 1-800-4625482 and have a wiring explosion sent to you. Let me know if you still need more help and I will contact them or call a local dealer that I know.

Cordless or cord saw Comparison

Cordless tools lose power as the battery drains, while corded tools deliver reliable, consistent performance with unlimited run time. Corded reciprocating saws range from less than 5 amps to 15 amps or more, with more than 10 amps providing optimal power for heavy-duty commercial use.
