Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-32FS320 32" TV

Problem with power. TV shuts off and on.

I tried shaking the TV a little bit and the power went back on and then shuts off in several minutes. I removed the cover of it and desturb the wirings gently with a none conductive wood and it went back on. So it appears to be working in proper but then it a few minutes it shuts off again. I can no longer open the back of the TV again and again since the TV set is extremely heavy. What should I do?

Yes i agree with pavin but let the tech know that you know is a cold solder or varius cold solder, that will help you in the price of the repair, you can say this to him,"look at the circuit board closely for cracked solder joints. Resoldering any bad joints will solve the problems"...good luck

Re: Problem with power. TV shuts off and on.

If the set switches ON when you shake it, or shake some wires inside (after opening the back cover) then in all likelihood you have a 'dry' or 'cold' solder. These are not easy to track, and so best left to a professional technician. call for a service tech.

SOURCE: Sony TV power and volume not working

Since remote does not work, try taking out batt and turning on by set. See if still turns up. It could be that the up button is jammed inside set. Does everything else works? See if you can go to menu and turn speakers off, this will allow you to work on set and not worry about noise.

TV will not power up. No tones, no control with

Possible solution (had it happen to me twice): disconnect the unit from power for aproximately  20 minutes (you must pool the power plug out). Plug it back and try again. Repeat with longer disconnect time if still does not work

32" Wega

this malfunction could be caused by a component who became hot during those 2 minutes.possible cause the power supply has the secondary tensions ,a little bit high or/and the final fly back transistor is damaged (or bad commanded).

Is my lamp out on my LG?

Most likely you can have 1 or 2 problems.
1! the light is busted and you will have to replace that. You might also need to check your cooler fan bearing as you indicate it makes noise.

Tv wonn't shut off

Have you tried unplugging the set for several minutes and then plugging it back in?

There is a separate circuit in the TV that turns the set on & off with either the front panel button or remote. The front power button does not switch the 110V directly.

The circuit could be either be a relay or solid state switch that turns on the main power supply.

It sounds like you have a problem with that circuit and you'll need to take the set in to be serviced.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!

TV makes a repeated cricket sound and won't turn on.

It means that the TV set has a short in it somewhere. The sound you hear is the power supply trying to start up and shutting down. Most likely the Horizontal output transistor shorted because of a bd high voltge flyback transformer went bad. Common problem for these types of sets. Good Luck
