Canon does no longer provide drivers for a PC780 printer under OS Maverick, what to do?

Based on my experience with a Canon Multipass F80, if you don't replace it you will slowly loose functionality until it becomes little more than a copier, if that. It was suggested to me that I download a driver from Canon that was an equivalent machine (i.e., multifunction printer, copier, scanner, fax; a newer model somewhat like mine) which I did. It didn't work. I struggled along with the older driver, and now I can only scan things into the computer (a Windows XP) or copy. It;'s possible you could Google to find a driver for the copier that isn't a Canon authorized driver, but you would be taking a terrible risk that it might be rogue and infect your system with something you don't want. I just don't want to risk it. Perhaps someone has another suggestion? I'd be interested to know myself.

Canon f80 multipass New five years ago never

Are you using Windows Vista or Windows 7? If so, the driver download page at Canon does not provide drivers beyond XP. Otherwise, go back to the XP (or earlier versions) driver downlaod site and download the MultiPASS F80 Software User's Guide. That may provide the answer to your problem. Also, if you are using unpopular, proprietary software programs the driver may not recognize the commands. Good Luck!

Hard drive failure required rebuild of XP Home on Dell computer. XP Home updated to SP3. Canon Multiplass F80 printer will not now work. I downloaded latest XP drivers from Canon web site, but installation...

I found that some Windows Plug and Play services were note running and were set to start 'manually'. I started those services which seemed related to Plug and Play, and the installation went without further errors.
