SOURCE: MAYTAG (AMANA) OVEN DOOR

I finally got my door back on, I had to wedge a butter knife in the hinge to keep it open, then I could put it back on the pins and slide the metal cover/locking thinge over it. Was a pain in the ass.

SOURCE: hook up oven door on maytag gas range

You likely need to lock the hinge in open position to do it. Either there is a small lever on the hinge itself you need to flip when the hinge is in the open position or there is a hole in the hinge, where you need to insert a steel pin (you can use screws, but they bend somewhat ;)) to hold the hinge open

SOURCE: can lift oven door out to fix it Maytag MGB5755QDS

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I understand by your post the range is a Maytag, however if you can provide the complete model number (MGB5755QDS yields zero matches in any search, the number is usually on inside of door frame or around the bottom door opening as shown below), I'll see what I can find for you.

i.e.

There are many possible scenarios as I hope you can appreciate being this is a global repair site, even within one brand for example so if the info provided is inaccurate I'll need to clarify the model before moving forward.

For most Maytag ranges the door removal is as follows. Open the door to the broil position as shown here...

Lift the door straight up out of the hinges as shown here...

Set the oven door down on a flat surface is recommended to avoid damage to the door. I'll watch for your reply if you have any questions or need further assistance. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

How do I adjust the door to close properly?

On many ovens, the door switch assembly can be adjusted to ensure that the door is closing tightly. Any adjustment of this type, however, should be followed by a microwave leak test using a calibrated instrument. Making a door tighter does not necessarily reduce leakage, and may actually increase it on some cases.

Dishwasher shutting off during cycle, seems the door is not closed tight enough. If I apply pressure to hold the door tighter it will continue the cycle.

sounds like fatigued or tweaked hinges. Take a good look at the door when it's open without the bottom rack pulled out. It should be parallel to the floor. If it is past paralell... check hinges. See if they can be adjusted.

Change doors from left to right

Depending on the brand, this "may" be possible. Look for a mounting bracket area on the side you want to change to. Is so, have someone help you, two person job!

Bosch HBL 645 oven door won't close all the way

I am afraid that the door hinges are non adjustable, and the only solution is to replace them as a pair.
There should be some kind of latch mechanism at the end of the hinge
where it is fastened to the door to compress the hinge to enable you to remove them.
Hope this helps.

My Wolrd Pool Double Oven Door will not close all

same problem, I tried to adjust the level and tip the oven back, but that didn't work either.
Two options exist, change the hinges, or close the door with a hammer handle between the door and oven. Place the handle down low by hinge, then push the door closed very firmly to pull the hinge outward a bit.

How to adjust the passenger door on 95 nissan pathfinder

There are hing bolts to adjust the gap in the door on the top and bottom, loosen them and move the door into position and then close and make sure the gap is even all around. If the door is not latching properly then there are two star screws in the door jam you can loosen and move the latch hook out and tighten back down to get the door to latch tighter, however if the plastic is wore off the striker plate it needs to be replaced or it will rattle no matter what you do.

Door doesn't close properly, leaks water

If the door seals are still pliable and intact there are two possible causes.

1/ The upper door hinge on the top of freezer unit has two adjusting screws under a plastic cover/cap which allows the upper hinge to be set forward or back altering/adjusting the spacing of the door seal to the freezer body. Moving the hinge outward at the top will cause the door to seal tighter at the bottom and lessen escaping cold air and condensation to form (water droplets). Adjust carefully so as not to create a weak seal (air gap) along other sealing edges of the door frame.

2/ Many United Refrigeration Commercial Freezers are manual defrosting. Moisture from inside the freezer can condense between the inner molded door panel (door shelves) and the exterior metal door. Usually ice buildup will occur in this space, but when defrosting or during high ambient temps the ice will melt and drip out along the bottom door edge/seal. Screws alomg the door frame (hidden by the door seal) hold the seal in place and also the inner molded door panel. The inner panel can be removed to replace the seal or to remove the ice buildup.
