Question about Fisher and Paykel DE27CW1 Electric Dryer

Fisher Paykel Dryer Fault Code 22 Info

We are geting a Fault Code: 22 and the Dryer stopped mid cycle. When we powered down and hand rotated the drum then powered back on then the drum would open up and allow access to the clothes. Now the dryer is working as if nothing ever happened. I am curious as to what Fault Code: 22 is for the DE27CW1, DG27CW1 series Fisher Paykel dryers?

That is a fault for the "Door Actuator Open Circuit". You may have not had the door closed completely and when you opened the door to check it out, you closed it completely. Another possibility is the sensor module is going bad.

Ok, well unfortunately, this symptom doesn't tell us much :( Other than, the dryer is getting power? Obviously, it will NOT perform any functions. Now when something like this happens, it can, unfortunately,be one of many, many, many things. From, bad sensors, to spiked electronics. There is no real way to tell, unless specific symptoms, or Error codes are displayed. Accordingly, one will have to troubleshoot the entire system to find out exactly what is wrong, often the place to start is with the main Brain, and Sensors, however to do this one either must be experienced or obtain a service manual, as all units differ in operation and circuitry.

So, it is my professional advice to you, that you contact an F&P repair center, and ask that they call and give you a "Quote" as to the cost and type of repair required. This way at least one can get an idea of costings before making a decision as to what to do, repair or replace.
Many of my customers these days often prefer to put any larger amounts of money, that would be spent on a repair towards the purchase of a NEW unit, with a full warranty, now i also say this as I am aware of statistics that show to overall, a unit that has been repaired after a major failure, for whatever reason, will usually fail again within the next 12 - 18 months..

No matter which cycle I select, why does it go to cool down and continues to beep non-stop?

Clean the vent screen and the vent pipe, apparently the dryer cannot cool down properly because the vent is plugged.

When turned on it makes noise like it wants to engage but after 3-4 tries it stops and then only the Extra Dry and Cool down lights stay on while it beeps.

There should be a little bit of resistance when you turn the drum unless the belt is broken or there is a problem with the belt tensioner. Press the Power button once to see what happens. Your dryer should be displaying a fault code. When you have that, the next step is to find out what it means.

Why would it stop mid cycle? You can hear the engine trying to start.

It is not the engine but the motor that makes the noise. perhaps it can be a mechanical issue that stops the machine at mid cycle due to friction on the drive or it can be due to faulty control panel or even a dirty/ clogged drain pump.

Diagnostic Mode
Entering the Diagnostic Mode
(a) Turn the power supply to the dryer on.
(b) Press and hold the Auto Dry down button, then press the Power

To enter the last fault diagnostics, enter the diagnostic mode as described
above, then press the Auto Dry up button three times. The last fault will be
