Question about Gateway Mediatrix 2102 Dual FXS VoIP Phone

Mediatrix 2102 All my calls are ended after 31 mins, what is causing this to take place?

I have my phone connected to a mediatrix 2102 ata which is connected to my netgear hub. Iristel my phone provider says the problem is not with the 2102, but maybe the registration time in the 2102 is the problem ?

Well i'm no expert on this device, but here's the manual if you can't figure it out, i suggest calling the manufacturer's tech support as this sounds like a very specific hardware question

2102 setup

The phones aren't on the system. You have to make sure to turn on "Auto Discover Telephones" under the system settings, system configuration tab within "tab to it" (on 5.0 and older software) and System wide settings, auto discovery with newer software. If the phones are plugged into the same network as the phone system, the phones will automatically come up with extensions.

Did this connection ever work before? I have a similar setup with Iristel and once in a while it goes down (Hurricane Leslie generated the problem last week).

Check whether the setup works without the Vonage device. This will tell you whether the problem is with your router or the Vonage box. If it works without the Vonage, the problem is in the Vonage box, you may find a good time to call Vonage for support.

I don't know whether the Vonage box (in my Iristel case it's a mediatrix 2 something) has to 'call home' before it lets your router set itself up.

If your router does not work without the Vonage, you have a simpler problem, the router is the issue. You can reconnect the Vonage and if the phones work, this confirms that the router is the problem. At least you can use the phones.

With the router, you need to log in to the admin screens and poke around until you find the problem. It is always a good idea to only change one thing at a time and always remember what changed immediately before the problem was noticed.

Once the internet is switched on to a phone line, interference can become a big problem and a DSL filter is necessary at every socket where a phone is plugged in.
Some older equipment may cease working altogether even with a filter.

There is a limit to how much stuff can be connected to a single line and overdoing it is asking for trouble. Long and complex cable runs are also potential trouble increasers.
When there is a problem it is well to disconnect everything and start again. Connect the phone first and if that works ok reconnect the rest one at a time until the trouble recurs and if it does, stop there and do without any more...
If the phone doesn't work straight into the master socket even with a filter, there is probably a fault somewhere on the line...

Sometimes my Linksys SPA-2102 NA does not generate "Ring back" (when calling my number a caller cannot hear ring back while my phone is rinning). Could you help?

You may need to reset your device and you will see a reset button at back of your router so all you need is to keep holding it for 10 seconds then unplug the power jack for like 1 min and then your device shall be reset.But please make sure to backup your all settings first. Cheerz

the reason you do not have a dial tone ther is two reasons that could cause this either your internet is not connected to the adapter correctly or the device is de regiestered

Phone lines shuts down

Sounds like you need a service tech to check your connection out there. VOIP hates latency and if it detects it, it will shut down.
You can go to and they will show you have to check if you have a good internet connection.

You cannot program a key with an assigned function like tranfer call or conference call, only with the basic button keys can you program it like Key 0 and Key 1.
