Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
So, i've just bought a new laptop and I've installed my printer (HP Deskjet F4240 all-in-one). Everything is just fine except one problem.
If I'll choose to scan a document and i let the original settings is working fine. But I don't need to scan a color document so I'm choosing b&w and instead of 300 ppi i want 200 ppi. The printer start doing it's job but at the end is saying "MFC HP scan has stopped working, A problem caused the program to stop working correctly " the says to follow some steps : to stop the program, reboot the computer and to reinstall the software.
C'mon i've done that all this morning again and again but the same results.
With my old laptop everything was working great. And I really need 200 ppi not 300 ppi and b&w because I'm a truck driver and I need to scan and fax dayli a lot ov documents.
The whole installation proces was ok and I didn't got any error message during the instalation. What should I do to make the printer work ?
Download this program and run it:
Couse i think it can be registry problems
and run CHKDSK /R then restart pc
If u got help please rate this solution as FIXYA

SOURCE: MFC-490CW won't print black ink
You get 1 year warranty from Brother, 90 days on refurbished models, you will need a new printhead which runs over $100.00 with labor on top of that. The serial number has the manuf. date and if you got a good price for the demo model I would call Brother and tell them your problem, and not that it was a demo model.

A simple solution to this problem is to scan to JPG as normal and then print the JPG to a PDF using one of the very good "print to PDF" utilities like the Cute PDF writer.
