Most likely problem would be the mouse is moving slightly while you work. However, it could be a bad mouse. Change the mouse out on the computer and see if that fixes the issue. You might also try your mouse in another computer and see if it does the samething.

MS Mouse Optical 2000, scrolls by itself, opens links and moves the cursor all by itself.

Interference from other wireless users was my problem. The signal coming from other offices around me interfered with my mouse/keyboard. I had to switch back to wired mouse/keyboard.

Cursor moves by itself/links come up by themselves

A couple of reasons for mouse behavior like this;

Defective mouse (Likely)
Virus (Possible)
Defective drivers (unlikely)

First, try a different mouse and see if it gives you that problem as well. If that doesn't help you out, scan your computer for viruses and malware. If you need a decent malware scanner, Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware is very nice and free.

Good Luck!

MS Works has stopped showing results of formulas. The formula itself now displays in the cell and all formatting, e.g. currency, borders, is lost in that cell.

You probably deleted the equals-sign (=) at the front of the formula. You need to click on the cell to edit, then in the edit entry field (near the top of the spreadsheet) move the cursor to the beginning, press the equals-sign (=) and ENTER.

Editorial opinion follows .... (feel free to ignore)

MS Works has lots of issues and they are all subtle and hard to deal with. You might want to consider Open Office Suite if you want "free". I switched over last year and I haven't looked back.

The cursor moves by itself during typing. It jumps to a position and I find myself typing in the wrong place.

I have found this is usually the small button in the middle of the keyboard (mouse button) I have tried some software to remove this problem but it did not on my laptop I ended up carefully removing the key board and disconnecting the two wires that go to the button My cursors kept moving across the screen

Assign a keystroke to the mouse, in this instance I assigned 'p' for pan (as per the .pgp file short cuts etc) against the scroll wheel click.

Click the scroll wheel, 'p' comes up on the cad screen, right click to confirm then the pan icon appears, hold the left mouse button and drag at your leisure. Yet to find a fix for Inventor.

Not ideal, but better than nothing at presnt.

Mouse cursor moving by itself

In windows xp go into start menu, then into control panel then click on appearance and themes, then move your mouse over to mouse pointers click on it , uncheck "enhance pointer precision, and click apply, that will stop the mouse from acting crazy, this will work with dell mouse pointers and most.
