I tried solution 1 below but did not get any indication of ice melting on to the floor or drip pan to indicate it was ice blocked by unplugging it for 24+ hours. It still will not get cold enough. How and where can I make diagnostic tests to see if it is functioning correctly? Does anyone know where I can get a repair manual on this model? I would like to run test to prove what is failing and replace the malfunctioning part.

I have an Admiral LTF2112ARW refrigerator. The refrigerator is working but the freezer won't stay cold even though the thermostat is on the coldest setting. Any suggestions about what is wrong?

ITS NOT A GOOD IDEA TO USE THE COLDEST SETTING CUZ WHAT U WILL GET IS EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE A MORE WARM SETTING. A HIGH SETTING CAUSES THE COMPRESSOR TO OVER WORK IT SELF CREATING TO MUCH COLD IN ONE SECTION TO THE NEGLECT OF THE OTHER SECTION. UR PROBLEM IS NORMALLY THE OTHER WAY AROUND TO MUCH FREEZER AND NOT COLD IN FRIDGE.? BUT i WOULD CHECK THE THERMISTORS IN THE FREEZER. AND ALSO TRY ADJUSTING UR SETTINGS TO MED AND CHECK UR AIR FLOW CONTROL VENT AKA COLD CONTROL THERMOSTAT.

Defrost thermostat, defrost timer or defrost heating element is bad. Because of that the evaporator is clogged with ice and the cold air cannot get to the fresh food section. Therefore the thermostat control doesn't get cold enough to turn off the compressor. On the other hand the temperature thermostat may be bad and stuck inn the on position causing the ref to operate continuously thereby defeating the defrost cycle. Uplug the ref and allow it to thaw completely. (24hours). Then while its quiet... turn the thermostat to OFF or 0 and then to the coldest setting and listen for a click sound. No click sound means bad thermostat. Later after thawing plug in refrigerator and observe function after 2 hours and check for cold air flow to the fresh food section. If the refrigerator appears to be okay... the problem is a defrost issue. Most typically a defrost thermostat is bad, but when behind the freezer panel is a good time to perform an ohm/ continuity check on the defrost heating element.

Refrigerator is not getting cold enough?

Hi, Please check setting of thermostat. If it is set for middle position , set it a little corder. If your thermostat has bet set for coldest, the most probably cause it your refrigerant is insufficient and need to top up.

Refrigerator not getting cold

Refrigerators and Freezer combination units have one common compressor and coolant for both units. If the refrigerator section is not getting cold I would check the following.
The cold zone is not blocked by a bag or box? The cold zone would be the coldest part of the refrigerator which vents the cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator.
Is the fan working on the refrigerator to vent the cold air to the refrigerator? You should be able to hear it when you hold the door switch.
The thermostat is not working which I have found most common is the thermister is not registering the correct temperature causing the fan not to turn on.

Refridgerator side not cold freezer side fine

Difficult to properly diagnois with such a brief description, but try the following as a good first step at correcting the problem. Reset the freezer and fridge thermostat settings at the factory default. Also, check the freezer section to make sure nothing is blocking the cold air supply vent into the fridge, do the same on the fridge side too.

Normally is the freezer is working fine, and the fridge is warm, it can be due to either a blockage of the cold air cross vent by items in either the freezer, fridge, or both, preventing proper cold air flow from the freezer into the fridge. Also, check to see if the cold air vent is not frozen or obstructed, with a fashlight (you;ll need to remove stuff from fridge and freezer to make this possible to check.

If the vent is not obstructed and you can clearly feel cold air passing from the freezer into the fridge, it is possible that the cold air vent control has ceased operating properly and needs to be replaced. Usually though this type of problem is caused by people over stuffing things into the freezer section and blocking the cold air cross over vent. Hope this helps.

Refrigerator cools, but not cool enough, even with temp adjustment turned to coldest setting. Freezer only gets down to 0. Fridge at 44 degrees

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.
