tuch the stereo jack .Now you can listen a sound when tuch the jack.If you donot get any sound think your amplifire or audio system has no dc/acvoltage .if the voltage is ok thnk your sound system defected and go totechnician.

I unpluged the Bose speakers to use headphones and now I can't get the speakers to turn on.

The speakers will not power on? Sounds like an issue with a shorted out jack on the speakers side. This is a common occurrence when user's plug powered-on speakers into a powered-on PC.

What's a good replacement for Dell Dimension 4700 speakers (AS500PA) that crackle too much to turn on?

The best replacement would be a Mac. They are easy to use, take up less space than that big tower, have a beautiful screen, and only one cable, (if you use a wireless mouse and keyboard). Not to mention, with the new operating system, Snow Leopard, you can run Windows with the help of Boot Camp!

And how much are those old Windows headaches worth to you? Believe me, I had PCs for over 20 years, and just converted to the Mac. It's like night and day. No more Windows headaches, my computer is actually fun again!

I have no sound from the speakers while using a microphone xp pro

I had the same problem. sorry to say i didn't. save info .go to google engine and type in 'no sounds from speakers' the advice came from a fellow named 'William'. you actually delete your sound system, in spite of the warning you get, then upon rebooting ,the computer looks for sound drivers for your system. if your computer is old , there might be no new drivers available.

2 SET OF SPEAKERS WON'T WORK FOR ACER E380

Do these speakers came with the system? If yes then check your manual from the Acer's website ( www.acer.com)
Also what color ports do you have in the back of the Desktop?
I believe you have a green, a Blue and a pink port, the Green is for outgoing sound, the Blue is for incoming sound, like a tape player recorder or a External CD player to get sound to your PC, and the PIN is the Microphone.

Speakers Dont Work

Hi Matt,
You might want to do these following steps.
1. Right click my computer and go to manage 2. Click on Device manager on the left side of the window 3. Look for Sound, Video and Game Controllers and you should be seeing at least a driver for your audio. It might be a SoundMax or Realtek depending on the type of system.  If it doesn't show, you may need to install them. What is the brand of your computer and its model?

Sound Problems

To make it easy for you this is the default audio driver for Dimension 2400 systems. Click on this link ---> http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/downloads/en/downloads_splash?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~mode=popup&file=122481
this would install your integrated audio driver for your system.
Let me know if this resolved this issue.

My speakers wont work in my computer

Make sure it is plugged in on the correct port. You may also want to check if the sound card of your computer is properly installed or if it is disabled.
