I have been trying for a week to find the brand/manufacturer of my tv. It is a 2002 Studio Series M5400 & that is the ONLY name shown on the tv anywhere. I want to program the remote for my DirecTV so that it will also work my tv (volume, on/off, etc). Can someone PLEASE help me find the info. I need in order to get the tv code I must have to program the remote? Studio Series is not shown as an option in the brand listings for the code #s. Please help me find the actual brand/manufacturer of the tv and/or the code I need to program the DirecTV remote. Any help will be VERY much appreciated. Thanks, rapple

The TV code needs to be reset in the remote. Check instructions that came with the remote or contact the remote's manufacturer customer service for the codes and instructions. Each brand of remote uses different codes and sequence of moves to enter the codes. Note: there are often a series of codes for each TV brand, without specifying individual models; you'll need to try several or all to find the one that works with your specific TV model (some may partially work; i.e., activate some commands, but usually only one code is totally correct). Once set, the code should remain permanently in the remote's memory.
Access the Emerson Remote Support site online.Locate the television's manufacturer brand within the table list. Obtain the television manufacturer codes to begin programming the television with the remote control.Power on the television you are trying to program the Emerson TV remote control to operate with. Press and hold the "TV" button at the top of the Emerson TV remote control keypad to prepare the remote for programming and association with the television. Enter the television's manufacturer code when the Emerson remote's TV button begins to flash. The television will automatically power off to process the new settings.
Try to reset the tv by unplugging the power cord from the power outlet leave it off for 3-5 minutes. If that would not work try to call the tv manufacturer to have your tv warranted, either the manufacturer will replace or repair your tv depending on your warranty. If the tv is already out of warranty call the tv manufacturer still to get a service center that have an expertise in repairing such brand.
