Question about LG Computers & Internet
I have a 47LG55 bought 2 years ago. Have a connecting issue with HDMI connecting to my ACER laptop Aspire 6930 that was also bought 2 years ago. It says "Invalid Format" in a black screen, I've checked the manual and it says "Check HDMI cable over version 1.3. The HDMI cables don't support HDMI version 1.3, it causes flickers or no screen display. In this case use the latest cables that support HDMI version 1.3". The HDMI cable I use it's PXT1000, a version 1.4. This is the same cable I use to hook up my blue-ray disc player Panasonic DMP-BD 35 with no problem all along connecting to the same LG TV. When I unplug from the back of the Panasonic DVD player and hook it up on my laptop, it says the "Invalid Format" with on display. My laptop using the same cable with no problems with other TV like Sony Bravia. Anyway, do you think it requires a HDMI cable of version 1.3, not anything over like 1.4 and so on? Optional Information: Make: LG Model: 47LG55 Already Tried: I've tried all 3 HDMI connections, HDMI1, HDMI2, HDMI3, same results of "Invalid Format"

After you connected the HDMI Cable to the TV...Did you press the FN + F4 Key on the keyboard... The first screen you will see is the notebook screen is blank and the TV has got the desktop on top of it...The second time you press the FN + F4 then you will see thedesktop on the notebook and as well as the TV...The third time you press the FN+F4 you will see the desktop on the Notebook...

SOURCE: how to connect/configure my acer
for HDMI, I guess you just connect it with HDMI cable to your LCD TV, and use the FN+F5 or F6 to switch display from laptop's LCD to external. I think it should be the same way as using projector.
