SOURCE: Is it possible to override

Well my friend its a little next to impossible but still try this.

1. Set the date to a little before the cartridges should be installed.
2. Insert the cartgs. in the plotter and wait for the plotter to recognize it.
3. Remove and keep it and use when ever you want.

SOURCE: z6100 new ink cartridge is

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer ONLY WHEN PROMPTED, to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken. Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or poor ink cartridge contacts. Sometimes the power supply unit must be checked as a poor SMPS unit can deliver low voltage and cause issues to the printer function. Check all the leads and connections of the mother board , the tags to the ink cartridge. Also check the mechanical settings of the ink cartridge , if jammed or tight remove motor and manually free the drive before it is set back.

Why does my HP printer say there is no maintenance cartridge?

When replacing expendable parts like the maintenance cartridge you have to go through the printer internal menu and reset the maintenance count. There is a combination to get to this menu on the printer. You might be about to access the menu through the web interface for the printer. I don't recall this combo but attached is the manual for this printer.

Black ink banding

Banding in one ink only after several feet of print then the ink runs 'dry' in the printhead,
firstly diagnose the problem corrrectly before spending any more money on Tubes or otherwise,
question: what can cause the ink to 'run out'
1: no ink in cartridge
2: tubes have a blockage
3: tubes have an air leak
3:Carriage assembly has damaged 'finger' contacts
4: APS faillure
5:Tubes failure
6: printhead failure
7:service station blocked up no longer able to correctly maintain printheads
all of the above need investigating before any more money is spent.

I would firstly Thoroughly check the tubes system for air leaks especially around the joins ( cracks can appear in the tube side walls allowing air to enter the ink system) at the back of where the ink carts sit ( Left hand end cover removed)
then I would move to the carriage and chek the tube ends and Valve stems ( where the printheads meets the tubes ) for excessive movement.
if this passes I would then have the machine perform an APS error check/ pressure leak detect,
this may show failure points on the ink cartridge's Which should then be changed and Diagnostic restarted until a pass has been achieved.

then move onto the finger contacts check for obvious cracks in the ribbon cabling, replace as required.
if when all the above is completed there is still an issue then I would be forced to strip and recondition the aerosol unit under the service station ensuring all ink ports are clear of all waste and that the maintenance cartridge is in good order ( not overflowing)

please note- ONCE a PRINTHEAD is empty of INK it can NO LONGER be used. it CANNOT be recovered, attempts to recover the printhead will only cause more issues compounding the fault. An Error I have made once and will NOT make again, I tell you now so that hopefully you wont waste your time doing the same.

Code error 24:10

ISSUE: The printer front panel displays System Error 24:10. The printer may not print, and in rare cases, ink may leak from the printer. SOLUTION: HP is investigating a recent issue with some HP 91 Ink Cartridges in HP Designjet Z6100 series printers. A combination of factors related to handling during shipping have resulted in a very small incidence of HP 91 Ink Cartridges with the System Error 24:10 error. When the problem occurs, the printer front panel displays System Error 24:10 and the printer may not print.
HP regrets any inconvenience this may cause. Please contact HP Customer Support for assistance. Click here for information on how to contact HP support at http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/wwcontact_us.html.

Hp dj z6100 banding using lexjet ink photo black only

could be the non-HP ink has clogged up the printhead. You should try a new printhead and see if that solves the problem. (I bet it returns if you keep using the lexjet ink)

Z6100 says maintenance cartridge almost full ( ihad just replaced it) Is there a reset?

There is a proper procedure to follow, under the "Ink" ikon on the Control Panel. You must follow this procedure or the machine will not know that you replaced it. If you did follow this procedure, I have found that if you remove all inks, printheads and the maintenance kit "properly", shut it down and then restart the printer, it will reboot all information about the supplies.

My z6100 is making a "powering down noise ....

the only part that is behind your ink cartridges is your air pressurization system. if you have some torx drivers, take off the left cover and check the motor that is probably making the noise. are you getting any error codes? i'm sorry the last tech was an idiot. if that was a warranty repair, demand your money back. if not find a reputable repair company. make sure the repair person is certified on that product. there are many people out there that are not and say they are.
