Opening the tower of a VGC-RB42B PC desktop Vaio

I wanted to open the casing of the computer but I couldn't figure out how to get inside without possibly breaking some of the plastic cover. I would appreciate some insight as to how to open the tower. Thank you, Andrea

There are 2 thumbscrews on tha right rear, if facing the rear of the computer. If you unscrew them and grab the dover in the slot in the middle, it will slide off.

There's normally some kind of screw or clip on the rear of the case. Every case is different, some have the sides slide off, others have the top slide off and then the sides lifted up, some come off all together. Others have the front pull off (careful not to break it if you try it this way) and then the sides unscrew from behind the front of the case. Good luck

I just got a new power supply for my old SONY VAIO VGC ra710g box. Need help removing old one and installing new one

Power supplies are pretty easy to replace.

I would recommend taking a picture of the inside of the computer case so you have a reference. The connectors are all oriented so you cannot misplug.

I assume you have the right PS for your unit.

Hi! You may download the Manual HERE and see how you can take out the hard drive out from the tower. Please be cautious while taking out the harddrive to avoid any incident.
