Question about Xerox WorkCentre C2424DN All-In-One Laser Printer

1 Answer

Xerox Workcentre C2424

I have an error code 04,018,48:2770 Can anyone tell me what this code is in relation to? Xerox are being typically unhelpful but then why waste an engineers time driving into the highlands for something I can fix, if I knew what it was. The machine is 18mo old and has barely done 10k yet and after suffering a power failure the was on and off like the a disco, it has come back with the error noted. I feel it is a sync problem with the drive train. I have checked the main systems with the info I have and they seem to line up fine. I do have an issue with the right side. There are a paid of gears fairly near the top that are definately out of sync. They were marked at one time where they met, and now they never reach that meeting point, I guess I need to know how to home the drive train. Can anyone help?

Yeah, That is the process drive assembly.
You have to remove that motor, I think it's 4 torx screws and you have to move a couple of wires etc.
Once you do that, you can turn the upper and lower portions to align the holes in the clear plastic frame with the holes in the gears. I normally pin them with just some papre clips.
Then when installing the assembly back into the machine, make sure the arrows line up on the bottom of the frame and gear.
That should line that up and time it for you. That motor is responsible for driving the maintenance kit up and down to the prep and clean the drum. You may want to be sure your maintenance kit is not somehow binding and throwing that process drive out of timing.
A C2424 does not often have probmes with the maintenance kit binding, but it can occur.
That process drive timing has some problems staying stable.

Workcentre C2424 System Error

That sounds like a problem with what is called the process drive motor. It is the assembly that moves the maintenance kit up and down to clean the drum.
It is located on the front right side of the machine and has a multi gear assembly to it.
It can be mistimed, there are 2 holes and an arrow on the bottom that must be aligned.
For service, to save money. you can contact a service dealer or an ASP in your area that would charge you far less than Xerox. If you don;t know who those service providers are, just let me know what your zip code is and I can look up the nearest ones for you.

Xerox workcentre c2424 error code

One of two things most likely.
1. The wiper blade is stuck to the print head,or 2, The print head blosk has a lot of spill over ink built up in it.
That code is caused by the inability of the print head to move properly. Either left to right or pivot front to back to get into the print position.
You have to remove the covers to access the stainless steel print block. It is located about 2/3 of the way back on the lower left side of the frame. It is a one inch by one inch square block that may have a lot of buildup of spill over ink in it. If the wiper is stuck you have to remove the ink loader , where you add the ink sticks , to access the area between the print head and drum, It is a pink blade the is between the drum and print head, it wold be stuck to the print head not allowing it to move. Just carefully unstick it from the print head

Xerox c2424 Printer won't work

34 codes are related to the print head. Print head NVM or the print head itself. Most likely, I would say 95 percent chance of a print head failure.

Xerox Workcentre c2424 Error Code "37,030.48"

Hi Ian_a_nicol:
error code # 37,030.48 means X-axis motor disconnect. The X-axis motor (second phase) is not drawing the expected power from the power supply. you can do the following to determin if the X-axis motor is bad.

1. Run the X-axis Drive test and if it passes
replace the electronics module, if not see #2.

2. Check the X-axis motor wiring for damage
or replace X-axis motor.

3. Call Xerox to have them come out and run the test and determin if it is the electronics module or the X-axis motor, but is one or the other.

Xerox C2424 problem (11,009:46 and 13,008.47)

The second fault is a result of the faulty electronics module. It is a print head heat related issue.
Question is, is the print head also faulty.
That electronics module is very expensive.
But the 11,009 specifically is a failure of the electronics module.
Have had those codes a couple of times.
Most likely the 50 volt source has failed, that maintains the print head heat.
A Drum Assembly thermal error has occurred. The following troubleshooting procedures apply to these errors:
