SOURCE: Jenn Air Frige problem
Check if it's internal body is not tempered. Often sharp edges of dishes, knives or other things causes damage to the internal plastic walls and the internal gases come out. It may be due to compressor's malfunction. Check the compressor if it is hotter than usual.

SOURCE: trash compactor problem
I have had this problem on my GE Monogram. The 'smasher' is near the bottom and does not move anymore, even though the motor is working.
What I did was to get a crowbar that would fit through the crack and hook the underneath side of the bottom plate. You also have to hold the switch so the motor runs with the door open and pull up on the plate until the drawer can be slide out. The trunnion nut (a plastic nut) was cracked. I replaced it 3 years ago, and it just cracked again. They now make it out of metal, so maybe it will last longer. Ordered it from appliancepartspros.com.

SOURCE: Trash Compactor Removal
I noticed that my compactor attached to the countertop above it at the front, but that it is also possible to do the same at the back. Can you get access under the cabinet at the back of the compactor and check it out?

This has happened a couple times to me and the fix is fairly simple. The problem is the trash ram is pushing down on the edge of the metal of the trash compartment because the door is partially open. The solution is to back-up the ram the the door will close.
To back-up the ram, you will need to pull the compactor out from under your cabinets and unplug it. Turn the compactor on it's side to expose the bottom. There is a plate on the bottom that covers the motor gears. Remove the plate and turn the large gear counter-clockwise to back-up the ram screws (at least this is how it works on my model works). The gears are a little greasy so you may need to add some after messing with the gears.
