Keep in mind that active mobile phones can interfere with the Philips CD/MP3 players function.

Try to reset your player by ridding it of electrostatic discharge: Disconnect power or remove batteries for a few seconds

I don't know your model number so I could not research it further. Go to the Philips support site and put your model number in, from there you can look up downloads of firmware if available and also downloading the manual to troubleshoot. Here is the support site:

Have a Philips MP3-CD Player-but no manual-don't exactly know what all the buttons are for.

The specific product you're inquiring about is not showing in your post. Name the make and model first, then we'll ALL look for the manual. Then (maybe) find a solution. You might find it at the manufacturer's support site, by using a common search engine or these guys...

I had bought a regular cd from hmv with music on it & when i put the cd in the cd player,it wont play & reads NO DISC also does not reads the amount of music on the cd,why does it give me this...

1. Check that the disc is free of scratches and dirt or dust. If the disk is dusty, use a soft, lint-free cloth and wipe the disk gently, using straight strokes from the center of the disc to the outer edge.
2. Make sure that you are inserting the disk with the plain, reflective side down.
2. Try listening to another CD (not burned) that you have purchased. If the other cd is giving you the same error message, return the cd player to the store, because it is defective.
3. Ensure that the disc you are using is not a DVD disc. It is easy to confuse the two.
Hope that helps! Good Luck!

Unable to play cd and unable to listen to radio. screen reads 'hold'

Look for a switch or button with the word "lock", or a picture of a key...
Push button, or flip switch.. If that doesn't work remove batteries, wait 10 min. replace batteries.

Phillips mp3 player froze up on the gogear screen.

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

Sony walk man mp3

try these methods
**Drag and Drop**
Connect your MP3 player to the computer. Some MP3 players connect directly to a USB port, while others connect to a USB port by way of a specific USB connector that comes with the MP3 player. Open the folder on the computer that contains the music files you want to transfer. This is usually the "My Music" folder, available from the "Start" menu, but it can be any folder where you save your music files. Scroll down to the song you want to transfer to the MP3 player. Right-click on the title. When the options are displayed, click on "Send To." Scroll down the "Send To" options and select your MP3 player. This can be listed as your MP3 player's name or as "Removable Drive." Click on this selection. Continue this process until you have transferred all songs that you want to your MP3 player.
--**Windows Media Player**--
If you have a large playlist to transfer, you may prefer to do it from your media player, such as Windows Media Player. Once your MP3 player is connected to the computer, open Windows Media Player. Click on the "Sync Music" tab. Drag songs that you want from your Windows Media Library over to the "Sync Music" column to create a playlist. Click the "Begin Sync" tab at the bottom once you have all of the songs on your playlist. This action will sync all of the songs to your MP3 player with one click. Disconnect your device once songs have been transferred by clicking on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the bottom-right side of the desktop tray.

My CD player keeps flashing (F15) when I try to play a disc.

It means that the laser/motor module is disconnected. Open the player and locate the connection band of the module. It should be orange, about 1 cm wide and it comes out from under it. Push it HARD into it\'s socket. Make sure you don\'t leave sweat or grease on the electronic and test it. I hope it works for you!

How do I put MP3's on my CD player?

If your cd player supports MP3 playback. When you write a music disc with your computer you must write them as a data file. Some burning software will ask if you want MP3 or CDA. if your files are CDA you must convert them to MP3s, you can download software to do this for you. But today most burning software will do this for you.

Ordinary cd-r can't read but an mp3 for was ok

If it is just the one type/brand of disk, the drive may just not "like" that brand of disk. CD manufacturers use different compositions of the layers of the burning media, some drives just won't read some media. Try diff brand...
