My HP Officejet 5610 All-in-One won't copy or scan any document

When I turn on the printer it says scanner failure. Whenever I press scan it says preparing to scan but nothing happens. Whenever I press copy it starts to feed the paper but nothing happens, the paper is stuck in the printer and the lights are just blinking, but it prints anything from the computer.
