It's very possible your element shorted to ground causing the element to get constant currant from the wall outlet if it was hot without running, if thats the case you need to replace the heating element.

Kenmore electric dryer keeps blowing circuit breaker

either the heating element has sagged when it gets hot and is now shorting out to the dryer heater case,or possibly a defective drum motors bearings getting tigt or the motor windings are shorting out and drawing excessive current,or even possibly a wire vibrating during operation and shorting out at a wear spot on the insulation, but most likely if it shorts out at a preset time after start it would be one of the first two problems listed above,

My Fisher&Paykel Dryer gets really hot on the top and upper left back when only running for a short period of time. what is the problem?

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

If you have already cleaned the vent then the problem is with the Thermal fuse. When the thermal fuse goes bad it cannot be reset and replacing it is recommended repair. It is located on the blower wheel housing inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct. You can test it for continuity before replacing. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

My dryer is getting so hot that it is shutting itself off mid cycle. I can restart but it only runs a short time....gets really hot and shuts off again!!

Check your entire vent tubing from the outside vent to the line coming out of the back of the dryer.
Overheating indicates low air discharge flow. The air in the dryer must move out quickly so the heat doesn't build up too much.
Try that & post back.

Dryer runs for a short period of time and then shuts down without any error code but with a "clean filter" indication. This happens when running any automatic cycle except "air dry". ...

it is proberly lint stuck around the motor and fan resticting air flow to the motor and the motor is shutting down because it is to hot vac out around the motor and inside the cabinet

Gas dryer heats and runs but not drying. There is very little lint in the dryer or the vent hose running outside. It takes about 3 hrs to get the moisture out.

A lint screen plugged with fabric softener deposits can block considerable air flow. Try running without the filter for a short time to see if the dryer action improves--if it does, wash the filter in hot water and detergent--allow to dry before installing. Hope this helps!

Ignitor gets hot and gas ignites, only runs for short period of time. then goes out. short time latter same thing.continues to cycle this way, clothes don't dry

This is usually the dryer coils have failed. They tend to fail as they heat up. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. Here is a video on replacing the dryer coils. Enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model.
