Question about Sony KP-51HW40 51" Rear Projection Television
The picture of my Sony 51HW40 recently started showing red horizontal lines. The lines are only viewable when there is a dark background in the picture, especially, when the background is black. I moved about 3 months ago and I'm wondering if the bumps and vibration of moving caused something to get out adjustment; however, the lines seem to have started about 6 weeks ago. Its possible they were there and it has just gotten worse. Any suggestions on how to fix would be appreciated? Thanks!
These are problems with retrace lines. What you should take a look at are the settings for the convergence / retrace lines Basically you need to open the TV and the job is about 15 minutes to solve the issue with arched lines, either blue, greed, or red. There is a great how-to guide here: http://www.somelifeblog.com/2007/06/sony-projection-tv-red-line-repair.html

They gona get worse to dead circuit, a small capacitor (problably in the neck board) is bothering you, get a tech now that he can see the problem, gonna be cheaper now....good luck ps some times the picture say to the tech was going on
